Detroit's version of "neighborhood watch".I'm not even sure burglary is all that random. I think much of it is neighbors or near neighbors. Someone is watching and observing; seeing what is carried into houses or what goes out in the trash [[that flat screen TV box should not be left at the curb), WHO is going in and out and when [[are they alone?, are they on a schedule?) and what the person typically wears [[fancy clothes might mean more fancy stuff inside) and so on.
^^^ Yeah, 'word up' is that you never set out boxes announcing expensive purchases, EVER! Re. flat screens I suggest you keep those padded specialty formed boxes they come in as flat screens are nearly impossible to move when relocating without the padded boxes.
One 'tip-over' against a sharp or blunt object during moving and a flat screen tv is toast - the screens are fragile. Indentations upon the screen, etc. can be avoided by moving in original box. Been there done that.
So what else is new? Detroit will always be listed in the top 5 of crime ridden cities in the U.S.
So the dispute is that the crimes were double reported in Detroit. So we had half the violent crime? That sounds like an improvement.
