Whoa, I had to double-check. Weekly World News, home of the Bat Boy stories. This heinous act was actually covered in the Weekly World News? I'm surprised.

I couldn't find the names of the sons. I was shocked at the mother. Why are we keeping someone like that in our prison system, I would have to think it costs more than a nursing home and really don't think she is much of a threat now. But than again, who knows, ???????

Life in prison means just that. Life in prison. You spent the rest of your life behind bars and then you die. Since she has 3 life sentences then she is to die behind bars.

I suppose the Richard Pryor comes in play here. "What is triple life? What you die, get reborn and go straight back to penitentiary?

Too bad George Lemons wasn't very successful in his music career - maybe he could have stayed out of trouble. Here's a Detroit Soul tune on YouTube by George. Gary, I remember this being discussed on SDF years ago, thought you might remember it.

I was the manager of a store in Southland Mall in 1985. Alberta Easter and her sons came into my store. It was Easter Sunday, that is how I remember them. I let the employees go home at 4pm, one of the first times the mall was opened for that holiday. Alberta and her sons were dressed in clothes trying to give an "air" about themselves , like they were wealthy. She had on a bad wig, big hat. George had on a captains yachting hat, the kind that goes for 5 dollars at Walmart. He had on a blue blazer that had a crest of some school on it. Obviously bought from a resale store, it had threads hanging. They had many store bags from the mall, they were on a check writing spree. Back in those days, to verify a check we had a service to call. I did not have to, the purchase was like 40 bucks, but did so. It came back bad. The service said to call mall security asap. I did, they kicked them out. Mall was ready to close anyway. Mall later told me they had written checks for over 4,000 bucks that day. They really got the JC Penneys for a lot too. Later on, I went to work for someone else, got out of retail. One morning I saw the news about the Easter clan. Strange coincedence later was that my friend's son was hired to replace one of the Inkster cops that was killed.

Gang, I really just needed a memory-jog on the name, place, and time [[obviously, about all I remembered was "something bad happened once,") but Cripes!! Thanks for the abundant response.

See, when one learns to avoid the Dead End threads-- where folks argue about stuff about which there is no chance that they will ever agree-- DY still has some value.

Oh wait. It should be you telling me that.

But, in any case, thanks, gang.

Inkster sounds like a proper place for a Ginkster novel or movie.
