Can Moroun just close his bridge? MDOT is all over him to take down his buildings and such, well could he say fine, but I'm closing the bridge down.

Sigh.

If you notice, the highest unemployment ranking of any state is 14.6%. And guess who that is? Grow up.
Oh Kraig, you're such a good debater. You'll win a lot of arguments by beating people up. Grow up. Huh?
Nah. Closing the bridge would be the worst thing he could do.
1. He would lose money.
2. [[And this is the big one.) It would justify and validate virtually every argument for another bridge.
They need to move ahead with the other bridge and get it finished. Then officially re-route all truck traffic over it by banning through trucks from portions of I-75 and I-96 keeping trucks not making deliveries in downtown Detroit many miles away from the Ambassador Bridge. Ontario could do the same thing on their side by banning through trucks from downtown Windsor.
That oughta' get Matty's knickers twisted.
That's what I like to hear. But I need to 'grow up'. [[Jeeziz K Rist, I'm an Old Fart). They need to move ahead with the other bridge and get it finished. No. DIBC control/owns the concrete and steel bridge itself. Border access itself is controlled by the U.S. and Canadian federal governments. Only they can open and close the border.

Then why did the taxpayers fund a $230 million project to construct a massive new interchange to improve access to an expanded Ambassador Bridge and improve access to I-96 from I-75? Not sure that's the best use of taxpayer money -- to arbitrarily use it as a weapon.
Here's some good information for all of you that want to know why there aren't inspections on the canadian point of entry coming to the U.S.
