I did not even think of Highland House, but I second it! There perch is great.

Andrew's downtown has great perch, Tom's Oyster Bar also has yummy perch.
Ivanhoes isn't as good as it used to be.
Not in Detroit, but the best perch in the world, Duffy's of Amhearstberg. Eat in the bar, not the resturant. Same food, better price.

Scotty's is the best locally, the best ever is in the UP, in Brimley. Wilcox Restaurant.
I forgot about Duffy's. We used to take the boat over and have a late lunch...ahhh, the good old days.

Ahhh, but the real question is: who serves good, BONELESS perch? I'm not much for all those picks.
Best perch I ever had was at Pinky's. Bartender there knew how to pour too - every drink was a double. I walked out of there bombed a few times.
Well the best perch is not at the David Whitney. When I was there last year we went and my perch was under cooked and cold. I expected better from a high end resturant,.
maybe we should all try lake st. clair. the ice fishermen are out there in droves
Best I ever had was the lake perch beautifully golden-fried at the Knights of Columbus hall, in St. Clair Shores [[on Jefferson near 11 Mile, I think,) on Friday evenings, way back in the 60's.
A long time ago, sure, but who knows? Maybe the place is still there, and they still do it.
Don't be mad at me when I admit that my brother and I used to dip it in ketchup. I would use tartar sauce, now, but it doesn't matter; the stuff was terrific, even sans condiment.
Prushs on Eureka in Wyandotte.
The Red Horse Inn in Carleton had great perch the night we tried it. As good as up north.
During Lent. ST. Veronicas in Eastpointe has a great perch dinner. Plus alot of side dishes. It's a must!
