Fair enough. Making donations to GWB before he got elected to office might've been okay. For his second term, after what I would consider a pretty lousy first four years, it was not a good choice of places to donate to.You know, it'd be a plus for me if they'd have not identified who she donated money to. Donating to GWB -- and in 2003, no less -- shows poor judgement to say the very least, if you ask me. Hell, many prominent Republicans had begun to fall away from him by then. It have been different if they'd have not indentified who she donated to, or if it had been some sane local or state Republican. This doesn't show her to be informed in the least bit. If anything, it shows her to be ill-informed. She didn't just give pennies to some Joe Republican in the metro area; she gave thousands of dollars to who even then was one of the most controversial American presidents in modern history, even among the members of his own party, let alone everyone else.
Didn't someone post on Detroityes that Monica failed the bar exam six times and was never a practicing lawyer? If so maybe that's whay she's rude, vile, and toxic 24/7.
I agree with "SteadySky" that this election's the GOP's to lose.
Another thought: would Michigan elect two blonde women Democratic governors in a row? Doubtful.
I've seen her on local talk shows and I was not impressed. The other side could talk rings around her. She didn't seem to know very much or she just couldn't think on her feet very fast. On "Off the Record" someone mentioned a Dillon/Illitch ticket. She is a strong personality, which is why she was at odds often with her younger brother Chris... mom sided with Chris, so she left the family business. I've seen her occasionally on the PBS Friday night local show "Am I Right?". I'm willing to hear what she has to say if she runs for office without pre-judging her based on the "Ilitch" name.
I can't imagine myself ever voting for Ms. Ilitch, but are you really this shallow, or are you saying that Michiganders in general may be that shallow? The candidates hair color and sex shouldn't have anything to do with anything. No one ever asked before Granholm if we were getting tired of middle-aged-to-old white men, so why should the fact [[especially after Granholm broke the gender barrier) that Ilitch is a blonde woman matter one lick to anyone here, in particular? Honestly, I'm not sure why you saw the need to even mention it.
