Thanks to the plethora of cable movie channels, a number of Holiday themed movies that rarely saw the light of day, are now common on certain channels
during the season.

One such movie is Holiday Affair, staring Robert Mitchum, and Janet Leigh.
The plot revolves around a war widow [[Leigh), and her son who wants a Lionel train for Christmas. The movie was shot on a modest budget, and as an exmaple the word Lionel is never used, as they would have had to pay a royality.

Here is the Detoit part, Mitchum works in the Toy Department at Crowley's, and although the movie is supposed to be set in New York City, the interior shots of the store called Crowley's LOOK at least alot like what was our Crowley's downtown. You clearly see signage in the store that uses the actual Crowley's script logo.

Does anyone know if this movie was shot at least in part in Detroit ??

TBS was the station that played this movie right after it's A Christmas Story marathon [[and as someone who HATES A Christmas Story with a vengance,
that marathon could not have ended too soon !).
