Once again liberals turn into mush when confronted with a threatening and real concept.

Tide? Seen any polls lately? Notice the most recent Governor's elections?

I think there's a better chance of seeing you dressed as the above than seeing any prospect of anything changing once the obstructionist Republicans are sent home in disgrace for opposing any real help for their districts. But then again, some people are fools.

The Gubernatorial elections that republicans won in 2 states? One of which is a historically Republican dominant state???

Yes, that, and the polls, and what will likely follow in 2010 and 2012...stay tuned.

what polls? the ones that show that Obama still has a 56% approval rating?

the ones that show that ever declining numbers of people think republicans have any answers to improve...anything?

the only reason Bats posted that lame comment was because it was something he could say that no one could refute, since we don't know this alleged "convert" -- just another bs comment with zero significance and even less credibility

Once again, we're not discussing the condition of your undies here, just the fact that there is no "tide" of conversion- and no one credible believes so-called "conservatives" are offering solutions to anything beyond even more restrictive fascist social agendas and hands-off crony capitalism.

Anyone else seeing what the polls seem to be confirming? A flip from either independent or liberal too conservative?
Pair this unsubstantiated anecdote with the thread title, and you have a piece of work of which Joseph Goebbels would be proud. DEFEND YOUR FATHERLAND!

Or it could look something like this:

Um, I have TWO friends who I won't name who used to be conservative and after Bush Jr. they're firmly in the moderate/progressive camp, so your entire premise of the "tide turning" toward conservatism is wrong.

Wow, that was easy. I should've been on the debate team.

Goebbels?? This person made the change completely of their own free will..there is no comparison whatsoever.

GWB was somewhat progressive in terms of spending and entitlements [[Medicare D)...his biggest error. I don't blame a conservative for distancing themselves from that...but the direction that they go in is MORE conservative, not less.

Certainly nothing to be proud of, being a conservative. They need to become socicalists like I am to really free themselves from Judeo/Christian phony morality and conservative societal restrictions on freedom of expression and liberty.

Socialists will even stand up for the rights of Rethuglican fascists when they would seek to destroy us.

So glad I don't live such a warped and frustrated life!

You may not know this Lorax [[but should)...as an ideology, libertarians and objectivists are atheistic...so much for your theory on that one.

No theory, just a statement of fact based on observation. Simple, really. You should try it sometime.

Oh, no, Cc, they're not atheists. They've just exchanged gods. Instead of Yahweh or Allah they revere The Invisible Hand of the Market.

Objectivism is a religion. It even has its own sacred scripture--the Gospel According to Rand--and its own Heresy--Second-Handing.

I'm surprised they don't have organized meetings once a week to recite the Message of John Galt in its entirety. [[Or maybe they do; I frankly haven't cared enough to pay attention.)

Based on your argument, the tide has turned back the other way.

Look at the polls...no, scratch that..don't look at the polls, continue the blissful ignorance until it is too late.

Weren't you the one who said that polls can be manipulated to say whatever you want them to say?

So, polls that favor you are "good", but polls that don't favor you are "manipulated"...

Yep, sure sounds like an Objecivist religious fanatic to me.

Bah. The musings of the incompetent bore me.
    Keep on keepin' on CC.
Kettle Meets Black. The ignorance that is blissful? None but your own. A pathetic attempt at massaging your own fragile ego.

Can we now start calling this thread "Tide of Revulsion?"

More appropriate, and I'm bored now, so it seems fitting.

You people are disgusting. You all would be right up front at a lynching or a witch trial. This is an illustration of mob mentality via the internet, an opportunity to attack someone that does not goose step with you all.

Not that it matters, but I am a liberal. However there are certain liberal dogma's I resist. There are conservative tenets that I have no use for either_ an example being deregulation in the financial industry and how disastrous it has been.

There have been transformations; David Horwitz come to mind.

Anyhow you all should be ashamed for this feeding frenzy.

Don't worry, CC thrives on the attention. He has been here for years. The people that argue with him come and go or put him on ignore. There is nothing to be outraged about here.
