Third Thursday Map Library Open House – November 19, 2009 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.

On the third Thursday of every month, the University of Michigan Map Library holds an informal open house. This month we will be showcasing “Maps of World War II.” It was 70 years ago this fall that the war officially began. The Map Library has one of the largest collections of maps produced for World War II in the U.S. They make up a significant portion of our collection and consist of maps produced for both civilian and military use. On display will be silk maps carried by pilots, German intelligence maps and aerial photos, weekly Newsmaps and information posters, detailed maps of the warfronts, and other interesting materials. We look forward to seeing you on the 19th!

When: November 19, 2009 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
Where: Map Library, Harlan Hatcher Graduate Library, 8th Floor, Room 825 [[Central Campus)
