Education is the key here, read up on the Schiavo case, and you'll realize the link to religion and it's implication in the decision to let her die.

Those implications were at the behest of the frothing right wing Christofascists who felt the need to weigh in on a family's deeply personal decision.

Not surprisingly conservatives ignore this excellent post because they can't refute it and therefore they are blind to it.

Do you know how many times Sadaam violated official terms of the cease fire, how egregiously he did so, and how many efforts were made [[in vain) to get the UN/international community to support justice?

That's like telling a fly to stop landing on your nose. Big deal.

The UN had inspectors in Iraq, Bush ordered them out so he could start bombing.

Read the IAEA's report from David Kay, chief weapons inspector.

This didn't kill me to look this up- easy and fast, just like you like it!

Try doing a little research to back up your claims once in a while, and if they are sourced properly, perhpas you will begin to persuade.

    Otherwise, forget it.

How about when Rumsfield and Co. basically said... We're going to invade Iraq, how about you produce a reason for us to do so?

Absolutely- there is evidence that Rumsfeld and Cheney, both coming from the same culture of corruption dating back to Nixon, had decided Iraq was going to be invaded long before Bush was appointed president by the Supreme Court.

The plans were already drawn, and all they needed was an excuse they could twist to their benefit- and then they allowed 9/11 to happen without using the available intelligence brought to them courtesy of Clinton's national security team.

Totalitarianism/ fascism and treason all rolled into one.

That is your response Lorax? It isn't a big deal? To you? Oh that's right, you're the guy that welches on wagers, and repeatedly defies forum rules....never mind...you are dismissed.

Again, thank you for brining constructive and meaningful debate to the table. You may now declare "I win" after no one is capable of responding to your mindless, often off topic and veiled dribble.

The fact that Sadaam provoked the 2 wars as I described is an important facet of this debate. It happens to destroy the liberal's arguments, and that is why you are critical but bereft of compelling counter arguments. And thanks again for the concession of defeat.

Which two wars were you referring to again?

No you history slayer- the first gulf war was GH Bush's war of choice, again for oil.

Daddy Tush freaked out the Saudis by showing them doctored photographs of what appeared to be Iraquis massing on the Kuwaiti borders with WMD.

Then the Saudis allowed Tush to build the Bin Sultan Air Base near their holy lands of Mecca and Medinah, and in turn infuriated Osama Bin Laden, a Saudi, and the rest we know is history.

Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait when Kuwait reufsed to stop short-selling oil in league with Saudi Arabia, and continued slant-drilling into Iraqui lands, devestating the Iraqui economy.

What we "won" in the gulf war was the Bin Sultan Air Base, which the Saudis begrudgingly agreed to, and which we closed after 9/11 under Tush II, since it was the principal reason Osama Bin Laden gave for masterminding the attacks on 9/11.

Billions wasted tens of thousands killed and for what?

So the Bushes and the Saudis could have a circlejerk?

I disagree. Whatever the reasons Iraq may have given for the invasion of Kuwait, we were--and are--obligated to step in when an ally is invaded. So Gulf I was justified and necessary.

Gulf II...not so much. That was pure opportunism, deceptively presented and cynically pursued in the [[mistaken) belief that Iraq's oil revenue would pick up the tab for us.

Don't get me wrong, stopping the Kuwait invasion was all good and well, it was the ginning up of the war with bogus information and doctored photographs that got us to that place.

If we had used diplomacy to stop Kuwait from illegally drilling, and had made the Saudis contribute troops rather than simply financing most of the mission, then Hussein wouldn't have invaded.

It was the Rehtuglicans who, since Reagan were always stirring the oil pot in the middle east dating back to Rumsfeld's hand shake with Hussein in the mid-80's.

Actually, it was earlier. The neo-cons [[Cheney, Rummy, etc.) started their power grab, and putting the wheels in motion for their world wide agenda during Nixon's Reign of Terror.

except for the fact that April Glaspie essentially told Saddam to go ahead, and that we "had no opinion" on the Kuwait question.

From New York Times, Int. edition, September 23, 1990:
We understand that and our opinion is that you should have the opportunity to rebuild your country. But we have no opinion on the Arab-Arab conflicts, like your border disagreement with Kuwait.

Whoa...Elganned got something right. Gulf 2 follows Gulf 1 via egregious and repeated violations of terms of our graciously extended cease fire.

No. Gulf 2 follows Gulf 1 because W wanted to show up his Daddy by finishing the job King George I left undone.

We've covered this Lorax. Here is a map of Saudi Arabia. Prince Sultan Air Base is on the eastern half of the country. Mecca and Medinah, which is next to Kuba, are on the West coast. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Al-Kha...ed=0CAgQ8gEwAA

Osama Bin Laden was infuriated because he's a psycho dickbag created in the bowels of hell. He's such a useless piece of shit that his own nation and family banned him from his homeland. Even the ruthless religious nut job killers of women and children that ran the darkest parts of Afghanistan didn't really want him, but they needed his money and influence. Do you follow the word of Manson as well?

Is that what the last excuse was?

    A. Developing Weapons of Mass Destruction
    B. Sadam Threatening Israel
    C. Sadam harboring Al Queda
    D. Violation of Cease fire
    E. None of the Above

I agree entirely, except the part of Bin Laden's distaste at having the "infidels" in their holy land. This is a direct quote from Bin Laden, which I saw in a clip some years back.

Since geography is more important to you than the reasoning behind the act, remove the word "near" and realize anything built by the "infidels" in Saudia Arabia was the problem, according to OBL.

He's been dead since at least 2003.

But like a really good drag queen, the Rethuglicans drag him out as the boogey man when they need[[ed) to win elections based on fear.

Someone should organize a Rethuglican Review of the latest and greatest circus side show of endless oddities:

Osama Bin Laden with scary music behind him [[a few shrieks for good measure)
Dick Morris and his penchant for sucking prostitute's toes
    Bill O'Reilly and his loofah
David Vitter and his adult baby diapers
Mark Sanford and his Argentinian "soul mate"
Rick Santorum and his "man on dog sex" routine
George Bush and his "human animal hybrids"
Dick Cheney and his "man sized safe"
Rush Limbaugh and his Honduran boner pills/oxycontin poppers
Glenda Beck and his hemorrhoid operation [[they found a brain tumor)
Larry Craig and his toe-tap dance
Rev. Haggard and his amyl nitrate soaked chew rag/male prostitute romps

    Gotta love the Rehtuglicans!

Haven't you noticed that the people in charge now are not Republicans? They have had 10 months to disclose this information if it is true, but....???
