The Shining did creep me out, But as a kid I would watch the friday night horror flix on channel 7. My father let me stay up for them. As for the movie that scared me the most Psychomania, My father hated motorcycles and said I would turn into a frog if I rode one.Havn't yet but I don't push my luck.

Ya know what? I forgot about The Shining - yeah - that one scared me too. Reading the book scared me as well.
And Psycho - the original. Was quite sometime before I could take a shower if I was alone in the house.
