2024 USA Today Readers' Choice Best Art Museum...voting now open

Once again the Detroit Institute of Arts is in the running for USA Today's Readers' Choice award for Best Art Museum. But unlike last year, the category is filled with 13 other U.S. art museums in major cities across the country:

American Visionary Art Museum - Baltimore
Andy Warhol Museum - Pittsburgh
Art Institute of Chicago
High Museum of Art - Atlanta
IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts - Santa Fe, NM
Los Angeles County Museum of Art
Metropolitan Museum of Art - New York City
Milwaukee Art Museum
National Museum of Wildlife Art - Jackson, WY
New Orleans Museum of Art
Newfields - Indianapolis
Philadelphia Museum of Art
Philbrook Museum of Art - Tulsa

This group of museums is more representative of the best art museums around the country! Certainly there are many others worthy of consideration. But much better than the eclectic group in last year's contest.

Currently the DIA sits atop of the voting.

I guess it will be nice for Detroit to win but honestly this is just clickbait, not unlike Detroit winning best riverwalk, mostly because USA Today & Freep are both owned by Gannett.

Totally agree!! But IMO any positive marketing for Detroit is good!

And honestly I've used lists like these USA Today categories and others to identify places to visit when traveling. All good!!
