Halal Ribfest


This event will be a gathering that celebrates community, culture and diversity. Attendees can look forward to an array of offerings, including Halal cuisine, local vendors, live traditional music, carnival rides and games, live entertainment, competitions, kids zone and more.

4-10 p.m. Friday; 11 a.m-11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Fairlane Town Center, 18900 Michigan Ave. in Dearborn. Admission for adults is $5 on Friday and $10 on Saturday or Sunday. Children younger than 12 enter free.

Detroit Black Film Festival


The Ford Foundation presents the 4th annual festival, featuring a curated selection of 74 independent films from six countries, presenting a wide-range of narratives illuminating the rich tapestry of Black experiences.
Three of the festival’s international films "Dodma," "The Black Italian Renaissance" and "Return to Your Corner" can be viewed virtually on the Eventive platform.

The festival runs through Sunday. Screening venues include: Carr Center [[inside of the Park Shelton) at 15 E. Kirby in Detroit; Marlene Boll Theater [[inside the Downtown Detroit YMCA) at 1401 Broadway in Detroit; and DoubleTree Hotel, 525 W. Lafayette Blvd. in Detroit.
Individual tickets start at $15 for a one hour block of movies; a one day screening pass is $25.

Michigan Renaissance Festival


This is the final weekend to transport yourself to a world of knights, jesters and fair maidens. Join the villagers of Hollygrove and immerse yourself in the enchanting atmosphere of a 16th Century European village, complete with 17 stages featuring entertainment that will include jugglers, musicians, magicians, dancers, acrobats, comedians and jousters.

Explore a marketplace with more than 100 artisans, interact with memorable characters, enjoy food and more.
10 a.m.- 7 p.m. Friday-Sunday at 12600 Dixie Highway in Holly. Online ticket prices start at $22.95; children 5-12 are $12.95.

Fall Bash/Lobstoberfest


This event presented by The Vintage Market Mercantile, Truago, and Roundhouse BBQ will kick off with a Lobsterfest hosted by Truago from 4-11 p.m. Friday under a big tent that will feature lobster, a buffet, drinks and live entertainment.
Festivities will continue from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday at the Fall Bash on W. Jefferson in downtown Trenton with an array of attractions that will include vendors, a beer tent, live music, food trucks, carnival-style food trailers, face painting, bounce houses, autumn treats and more.

On Saturday, vendor booths will close at 7 p.m., while bands, food options and the beer tent will close at 11 p.m.

Shorestoberfest and Food Truck Rally


This German-themed beer fest presented by the St. Clair Shores Cool City Committeeand the Lac Ste. Claire Kiwanis will have a diverse selection of beers, food trucks, costume and beer stein holding contests, accompanied by music.
The beer lineup will showcase offerings from local breweries such as Copper Hop Brewing Company, Baffin Brewing Company and more. Additionally, Blake’s Orchard & Cider Mill will feature their hard cider.

Note that admittance to the park during the event is restricted to 21 years and older.

6-11 p.m. Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park, 32400 Jefferson in St. Clair Shores. Admission is $5.
