Thread: DOT Bus Stops

  1. #1

    Default DOT Bus Stops

I was on the 9 Jefferson yesterday and noted that the robotic stop announcer seemed to mispronounce some of the street names. He [[are they always a male voice?) pronounced Joseph Compau "Com-pow" and used the French pronunciation of Dubois.
I don't intend to ride all the DOT lines to find out, but I was curious how many other Detroit street names get mangled by this technology.

  2. #2

    Default

Racho Road, a Downriver road whose official pronunciation fluctuates between sources, is pronounced as "Rah-Cho" on SMART's automated stop announcements.
