*shrug* Part of the ethos of conservatism is that "extremism" means change, and since they are against change they cannot be extremists, Q.E.D.

We've coined the phrases "ultra conservative" and "reactionary" for the "extreme" right wing; they'll serve well enough.

Nobody's ever thought to use the term "radical conservative", I suppose; it would be interesting but confusing, like CC's use of "Socialist Fascist".

The reason is that a radical conservative, because true conservatism is based on rational thought, cannot logically exist. It would be like having extreme truth.

Just as "socialist fascist" cannot logically exist, but that doesn't stop you from using the term.

Oh, and BTW, I do not accept your premise that "true" conservatism is based on rational thought.

Wrong...define the words and you will see that they can [[and do) exist. If you want to read more, read Jonah Goldberg's book by the same name.

Defined separately, they exist and stand for well-understood things. Concatinated together...not so much.
