Can any tell me what is going on the north side of Grand Circus Park with the lone standing facade of a building that was demolished decades ago and is currently propped up with ironwork?

There's a Google Maps view here.
Is this what you're talking about [building that is]? Yes, what's up with the delay?

There are even two photos of the building on a car interest site:

Yes, thank you. I had not realized it was the old Adams theater building which was apparently demolished way back in 2009. Given it's location it certainly should have been given a higher priority for redevelopment methinks. Is this what you're talking about [building that is]? Yes, what's up with the delay?

I totally agree with the fact that this building should be given an higher priority than a lot of the "District Detroit" buildings. It has been in it's current state of limbo for 14 years now! The rest of the area has been rehabbed... the Kales is restored, the Briggs Houz and Pao Restaurant [former lobby of the Oriental Theatre], the Park Ave Building is getting a rehab, the United Artists, David Whitney [Aloft], Broderick, Madison and Detroit Opera House are all completed or started. And yet the Fine Arts Building facade still sits there in limbo with no plans by the Ilitches.
FYI... the Fine Arts Building predates the Adams Theatre by a dozen years. In 1917 they used it as the entrance for the Adams Theatre built behind it across the alley facing Elizabeth. This theatre was known as an "Alley Jumper". Main floor [Orchestra level] patrons took a tunnel passage below the alley from the lobby to the auditorium, and Balcony patrons took a sky bridge at the 2nd level. This left the alley itself open.
You get one guess who the owner is. Guess right and you'll have your answer as to why nothing has been done with the façade since demolition.
