The main structure is expected to have 10,800 square feet available for up to 60 independent vendors, including for Motor City Match participants, Schneider said. The shed also includes a 900 square-foot coffee shop.


Motor City Match is a city-run program that offers financial and technical assistance for growing Detroit businesses.




"We're hoping that an entity involved in Corktown [[who can) help us obtain low cost financing to get the project moving and also allow us to offer low rental space for the market's vendors," she said.
