Renaissance Center at a Crossroads?

Yes, I walked through the Ren Cen and spent not a dime.

Nothing to spend money on in that place, AFAIK.

But then, I wasn't looking to rent a floor or two of office space, even though I investigated the virtual offices and postal addresses that Regis offers in the tower.

In a vacuum you may be half right, but in reality that statement is just dead wrong. The RenCen is already surrounded by thousands of pedestrians each day, the last piece of the puzzle is getting them to walk in the door. Once you draw them in with SOMETHING then you can build more and more to cater to that foot traffic.

This is why sports stadiums, malls, amusement parks, etc don't JUST have sports, shops, and rides.

Of course, I'm talking about the base of the towers and not the towers themselves.

People may go in there once, but they won't go back unless they have to. That place sucks - it's confusing, and I would say totally user unfriendly.

When I've been in the Ren Cen there has always been people inside of it, I would even say that it's one of the most busy pedestrian spots downtown.

I also don't personally find it that confusing. The hard part isn't the general navigation of getting from one end to another, it's things like remembering which direction the escalators and things go. But when I walk towards where I want to go I end up getting there just fine.
