Assuming the figure is a large one, but not as large as you suggest, then what about the majority of elective abortions?

Better birth control education would be a start. What is Rethuglican society prepared to do with the millions of unwanted childred? Especially those born of rape or incest?

Do you expect the mother to bond with a child forced upon her through such circumstances? Are you prepared to pay for her medical care, the care of the child, it's education, etc.? I doubt so.

The Reich loves the fetus, hates the child, and has proven this time and again.

Until better ways of dealing with this are adopted, and abortions are rendered rare, safe, and kept legal, even through late term, then we will continue to jawbone the subject into eternity.

No one ever said it wasn't about life and death. But life and death also contain shades of gray.

The absolute truth of life and the absolute reality of death are mere beginnings and endings- how we approach them, deal with them, and learn to continue to live in the face of life and death, is what makes the experience have value.

Telling all women that abortion is wrong in all circumstances, which you proffered earlier is wrong.

If more Republican faith-based orgainzations stepped up to the plate and offered to take any and all unwanted children, pay for the mothers to carry them, have them, care for the baby, put it up for adoption, and if it is never adopted, then educate that child until he/she is able to be a contributing member of society- all the more power to them.

But they won't step up to the plate, because they can't afford to have it both ways. You can't speak out against condoms and abortion, and not be standing there with the 400,000 it will take to raise that child until he's able to work for himself.

By the same token, you can't expect a mother who's child is the product of rape or incest to carry it to term. It's not your body, therefore not your decision.

You are such a big believer in completely unalienable rights to self and property, why is it then that women are suddenly second class citizens in your world?

I didn't say that all abortions were unethical [[although the vast majority....over 99% probably are). I will say that abortion as a form of birth control without any medical indication is unethical...and that is an absolute.

There is nothing absolutely right or wrong about abortion, since every case is different. And you did state in a previous thread that all abortion is unnecessary and unwarranted.

So don't back away from it.

Medically necessary abortions are real, and more frequent than you'd likely imagine.

No, not a religious reason, the objective reason that innocent and vulnerable human life should not be denied just because somebody claims to have the power and right to do so.
