In Grand Rapids, MI. An African American male was killed by a G.R. police officer while chasing him to neighboring home as the officer tries to hold him down. Protesters including Black Lives Matter protesters will be doing a peaceful march through Downtown Grand Rapids. It's possible that the officer will be charged.

The guy's lawyer is saying the officer should be fired. First thing taught in law school these days seems to be to never let due process get in the way when you've got a camera on you.

Shooting someone in the back of the head is an execution, whether it’s done by a Russian soldier or the GRPD. A traffic stop should simply never escalate to this point. It’s not like the cop was trying to apprehend a murderer.

That's what we used to call a "sucker punch" when I was growing up, when you punch someone and they never saw it coming. He landed a cannonball shot right on the chin and she went down hard with her arms at her side.

Violently resist arrest and grab the taser from an armed police officer ? There were only two outcomes to this conflict, the officer losing or Mr. Lyoya losing. While I don't take any joy in seeing a man die over something that devolved from a rather trivial issue, I'm glad to see that the officer made it home safely!

Executing suspects, especially over non-violent crimes, is just plain terrible police work. The fact that this officer let a simple traffic stop escalate to this point, then fired his taser twice into the ground, then allowed the guy to grab at his taser, and then decided to solve the whole mess by just shooting a supine man in the back of his head execution-style, sure doesn't speak well for his training or his competence. It also looks on video a whole lot like manslaughter.

Yes it was the officer’s fault the suspect was driving with mismatched plate and car, expired tags, warrants for his arrest, ran from and fought the officer and then went for his weapon. All the idiot had to do was follow the officers orders, he may have been put in jail[[for his own mistakes btw) but he wouldn’t be dead.

Totally agree. That officer escalated the whole situation. That unarmed kid didn't threaten his life. Also, why didn't he call for backup before he let it get out of hand? Yet he shoots him in the back of head, execution style. A lot of BS comments on here about BLM, yet cops continue to murder black men. Just went through this BS last week in Minnesota which has gained a bad reputation of cops killing blacks.

Really ? If he followed orders that Cop still could have shot him. Many Black Men have not resisted and still died. Everybody on here commenting and NEVER had to go through DWB. If you can't relate, don't comment.

Have you been pulled over? I mean just because and you didn't do anything wrong? No traffic infractions, just pulled over. That kid didn't need to die over a expired license plate or registration. People get pulled over all the time,the ones that comply are here to post about it,nobody likes to comply,but as we see it can be conducive to one’s health when they do not.

Nobody is going to win a roadside fight with the police,when the only news you see is African American police shootings,which is racist in itself,because there are also white people shot by police when they also do not comply.

It has little to do with skin color,more so in knowing when to pick your battles.

I knew you made this post without even looking for your name. White's don't get shot by the cops as much as blacks PERIOD Richard !! Remember the white kid in SC who shot and killed all those black people in Church some year's back? The police finally caught him, handcuffed him, then when he said he was hungry, took him to McDonalds. Do you think they would have done that to a black suspect? Or Kyle Rittenhouse who got to walk the streets of Kenosha Wi, carrying a long gun right in front of the cops after killing two people in cold blood and after the incident he walked by Kenosha police, and they asked him if he wanted a bottle of water.. You think they would have did that for a black suspect? Allow him to walk city streets with a assault rifle unencumbered? The point is, they weren't killed. They got to have their day in court. I can play this game all day, except it's not a game for us....
