Detroit has been cited as one of the fastest improving large school districts in the country by researchers looking at NAEP [[National Assessment of Educational Data). Detroit is citied as improving much quicker than would be expected given in performance history.

While the district clearly is still behind, it is good to see the improvement. This looks like a legitimate study, using a legitimate dataset [[2010-2019). Other cities that show higher than expected improvement are Washington, DC and Atlanta. Meanwhile Philadelphia and Houston have gone in the opposite direction.
