He would write a check to the guy for the amount of cash he needed instead of going to the bank. He said he had no idea he was mob connected when the story came out years later but I'm sure you think he should be banned from the Hall of Fame. You don't like sports. We get it.
It was a few hundred bucks here and there instead of going to the ATM. More like a neighbor doing a favor. It was never amounts that would be worthwhile to wash money unless he was the ATM for half of Bloomfield Hills.

Mickelson had previous brush with the media a few years ago when he publicly griped about how much he was paying in taxes. Apparently, no one is allowed to gripe about paying taxes, so he had to walk it back and apologize.
