Let the Royal Oak City Council buy it and return it the Landmark Theaters.

Landmark is closing the theater.

The pandemic killed the Main Art. But Royal Oak's incompetent planning department killed Royal Oak, or at least the Royal Oak that was unique or interesting.

Planning Department is the wrong term, they should be called the I've Got A Rule for You Department.

The planning pendulum has swung far too far towards regulation. Planning is necessary, with a much smaller set of rules.

...Or let the Detroit Institute of Arts/Detroit Film Theater purchase and run the place to not only support the Institute, but to continue to show independent films for that segment of moviegoers. A well stocked concession stand is where the money is - 85% profit!
