Not sure where Carlita and the boys are living [[Google search doesn't return an answer), but his mother lives in Georgia, and even Christine Beattie lives in Georgia. So Georgia can keep them...

Until and unless he actually pays back all his restitution, the media should keep a spotlight on what he's up to.

Last I heard, she was living in the exclusive suburb of Dallas, Southlake Texas. But that was a few years ago.

So many of us saw this coming.
Politics or preaching seem by far the best fit for his side job.

If he's truly ready to show the world a new redeemed version of himself, one hopes this means he will sin no more [John 8:11] and render to Caesar what is Caesar's, i.e. make his restitution payments [Matthew 22:21].

Actions will speak louder than his words moving forward. Time will tell if he's sincere or ultimately reverts to his old behaviors.

But they're not reporting on his restitution. The media shouldn't lionize him. Who gives a shit what Kwame is doing or where he's preaching? Dude is a disgrace and irrelevant.

The people of Detroit should give a shit, because he's legally obligated to pay back $1.5 million to the water department and more than $854,000 in restitution. So yeah, the media should keep track of what he's doing and follow up after this start of his new "career" to see where the collection plate take is going. I haven't seen the mainstream media "lionizing" him as of yet.

Well stated 248L! We [Detroiters] could particularly benefit from the 'render' to Caesar aspect!

Yep. Only bested [and in some cases replaced] by 'organized ideologies' coming up hard these days! Similar traits...

Rev. King Kwame did some preaching. Delivering the Word of God the to flock. While making some money off the collection plate instead of embezzling money out of the City of Detroit.

He when from throwing parties at the Manoogian Mansion. To throwing a ' Holy Ghost Party' at the church.

Now that's pushing dope to pushing hope.

He's a grifter just like the Maralago Mussolini who pardoned him. One rotten crime family deserves another.

No love lost for your local party, politicians and powers that be who actually put the pardon on the radar and presented the paper, because without their support he was just another name amongst millions.

If they had the combined power to get him pardoned, what else do you think they have in store for him, that they clearly have the power to implement?

He has found god to mend his Wiley ways, next his restitution will be paid by anonymous sources, then it will be everybody deserves a second chance.

Don't hold your breath. He was also popped for 6 years of false tax returns, and is under court order to refile them and be subject to audit. This will be for taxes and criminal fraud penalty, which is an additional 75% of the tax. And unless a specific court order is issued, Uncle Sam always gets his first.

I believe the sales tax exemption for Michigan requires that the expenditure be related to the tax-exempt activity [[church, not say, yacht for personal use). But as you say, Lowell, lots of gray here

So obvious, but I missed that thought. Of course nothing like a church to launder cash. Amazing! We had 1,000 parishioners last Sunday. Don't know why that photo of the parking lot only showed 6 cars. My parishioners mostly walk.

    A cliche
    That still works:
    "The [yacht] is for fundraising."

    So many loopholes,
    The well-paid lawyers,
    The rich accountants,
    Take them to account.
