It wasn't Detroit's revenue to lose. I can't figure out what Detroit could even learn from this. The MLB sent all this revenue and jobs from a MLB city that is 54% black to a MLB city that is 10% black. The MLB said it chose Denver because Denver already had plans to host an All Star Game. The Denver paper said hopes were alive to have a full capacity crowd Gov. Polis lobbied to land the game. Maybe that's the ticket for Detroit; Whitmer willing. On the other hand, if Lansing passes any bill that rich white liberals don't like or lie about, then the people of Detroit should be punished. There's a lesson in there somewhere.

Politics and sports have always mixed, you just only happen to not like it because it goes against your beliefs.

It's not hogwash, but your opinion is.

If it’s not hogwash why would they move it from a predominantly black city to Denver a predominantly white city along with all the revenue?

Um... time to use Google search...

The Atlanta braves play in the Atlanta suburb of Cumberland, in Cobb County [not even in Atlanta's Fulton County]... Cumberland is 62.21% white.

And you already know the real reason is the changes to the voting laws in Georgia... and has nothing to do with ethnicity of the stadium location.
So what was your point again?

Cumberland is not a suburb. The stadium is less than one mile from the Fulton County line. The area is called Cumberland by some because of Cumberland Mall which has been there since the early 70's.

The actual distance, according to Google Maps, is 14.1 miles, from downtown Atlanta to Truist Park, up I-75. Other than the most hard core baseball-only fans, I find it hard to believe that people wouldn't stay in downtown Atlanta and opt instead for a Motel 6 just outside the stadium. It is a huge revenue loss for the City.

Cumberland is not incorporated, but it's not in Atlanta or Fulton County either.

In fact, portions of it have a Marietta and Smyrna address.

Not being political, you should shut this down. And check your spelling.

I said Fulton County NOT downtown. Also get better at your Google research as there are several 4 and 5 star hotels in the immediate area around Truist like the Waverly Galleria, a Sharaton, a new Omni right in the Battery. NO Motel 6 there!

Well you're right, it's .7 miles from the stadium.
