But as for the rest of it, which correlated wealth with voting democratic:
The data shows a higher level of education is a much bigger predictor than wealth for voting democratic. Of course wealthier people are more likely to send their kids to college, so I don't dispute wealthier people tend to vote democratic. I'm sure it's true.
The experts who've dug deeper into the data have discerned education is a bigger factor. In the 2020 election higher education was 50% more correlated with a democratic vote than was wealth. Wealthy people without higher education were much more likely to vote Trump. Ordinary people with higher education much less.
A simpler way to look at it, analogous to your example: Among the 50 counties with the highest percentage of college graduates Biden won 45.
