Within minutes of taking the seat Biden shutdown Canadas Keystone pipeline project.

    What is it?

A pipeline that stretches from the Canadian oil fields to our gulf coast to the refineries.

Canada does not have the capability to refine their oil,so the objective was to send down to the gulf coast to be refined then sent to Asian clients.

What is the impact of shutting it down?

On the Canadian side, loss of billions invested so far,1000s of jobs, increased fuel costs,a sticking point for future trade relations.

On the US side, loss of jobs,a multi billion dollar lawsuit to recover monies spent on leases that have now been rescinded, increased fuel costs.

Even more so,Canada supplies much of our electricity used in the upper NE coast cities, cheaply,so cheap that during the night time they are providing power at below costs.

Fuel prices increase in Canada, then they will have to pass that increase on to millions of Americans, who will see higher power related costs, that never seem to lower once implemented.

In this rush to remove fossil fuels from the world,it needs to be taken into account how many countries actually rely on that revenue for a majority of their income.

Look at the collapse of Venezuela when the petro dollar collapsed, now imagine what happens across the world, even more so in the Middle East where multiple countries rely on petro dollars, remove the petro dollars from 20 nations and they collapse and the world has a serious problem, real quick.

    Another interesting thing to note.

After Biden signed a couple of EOs the media started to ask multiple questions and they were quickly escorted away, while being provided with zero response.

During the Obama administration we saw the collapse of the media, you can only fluff somebody up so much before people get bored.

Along came Trump and millions filled with hate looking for blood, the media was happy to provide the fix, even if they had to make it up.

All of the sudden ratings shot up and anybody with a computer and was willing to attack Trump, all of a sudden became relevant again.

Everybody knows in the media, fluffy stories do not drive ratings, blood n guts do.

So the question becomes,is the media really ready to not attack Biden as they have 24/7 with Trump?

In order to remain relevant and stoke the flames of revenue, they have to find away to keep the flames burning.

I wonder what it will be?

Every night, protests are still happening, buildings are still being destroyed as the violence continues on the radical left, but the media seems to have forgotten that,or maybe they consider that as the new normal?

You do know that nowhere in that article does it show that Antifa operatives were involved, right? It shows that the claims were debunked.

According to a New York Post law enforcement source, “At least two known Antifa members were spotted among the throngs of pro-Trump protesters at the Capitol on Wednesday.”
The source claims the left-wing agitators disguised themselves as Trump supporters, but were spotted in surveillance footage by police who recognized the individuals from participating in New York City protests.

Another key point mainstream media will never cover is the fact that multiple videos show Trump supporters actively calling out “Antifa” as people fought with police and broke windows.

Pro-Trump demonstrators even physically stopped these people in multiple instances.

In the following video, men in black can be seen smashing Capitol Building windows as others yell, “Boo,” and “Stop them.”

Trump supporters can then be seen grabbing the individuals and stopping them from vandalizing the building, causing the crowd to chant “F**k Antifa!”
Watch as 2 men in black smash through the Capitol doors while Trump supporters chant “F**k Antifa”

Another video shows a small portion of the pro-Trump group scuffling with Capitol Police as the rest of the crowd shouts, “Antifa go away.”
“Arrest them,” others said. “You know it’s not us, right?”
As the confrontation continued, the crowd shouted, “Back the blue,” and discussed how the media would focus on this instead of the peaceful majority.

The Utah Black Lives Matter "activist" has been bragging about his involvement in instigating the Capitol riots. Now, he's been arrested.

Show me at least one instance in the last 4 years where Trump supporters have been violent towards the police, smashed windows and destroyed buildings.

Like I posted every single protest, from the beginning to end has been filmed in the last year and is on file.

Five dead: One police officer was killed by a hurled fire extinguisher. One rioter, a woman, was shot by the police while crawling through a window although she posed no immediate danger to them. Three others died because of health or other reasons. One account said one of the three was trampled. One death on each side had to do with intentional violence.

Let's go back to the BLM/antifa rioting that went on all year in some Democratic cities. Caveats: 93% of BLM rallies remained peaceful and the photos of violence were mostly of white dweebs dressed in black. As of October 25, 2020,
At least 11 Americans have been killed while participating in political demonstrations this year and another 14 have died in other incidents linked to political unrest.

I don't think that includes heart attacks. So the ratio of killed by each side is similar but there were at least 5x the number of dead in BLM/antifa riots.

-How about comparing damages? There was a lot of broken glass and at least one mirror broken in the Capitol, There were over 250 business damaged or destroyed in Minneapolis alone.
    - Arson? All antifa
-Looting? hundreds of stores nationwide by BLM/antifa, up to seven computers looted by Capitol rioters.
-Vandalism? iconic statues torn down across the nation by antifa. Successful pressure on city councils to tear down statues for them also. Statues and paintings in the Capitol were left alone.

By every measure, deaths, property damage, arson, vandalism, the 7% of BLM/antifa protests that spilled over into violence eclipsed the Capitol riot. I'm for punishing the Capitol rioters for their crimes as severely as antifa protestors were for their crimes.

    Pelosi speech

Trump had no plan for distribution of the corona virus shot.

    09/16/2020

    The strategy, outlined in a
report to Congressand a 57-page playbook to states, comes as 6 in 10 adults are worried the FDA will rush to approve a vaccine due to political pressure, according to a recent Kaiser Family Foundation poll. And the push to vaccinate Americans comes as health agencies have faced outsized pressure from President Donald Trump and his political appointees.States must submit plans: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is requiring states and jurisdictions to submit plans on how they’d administer and distribute a vaccine by Oct. 16. They’re facing a host of challenges, such as how to store a vaccine that’s expected to need to be kept in specialized freezers.

    https://www.politico.com/news/2020/0...accines-415914

It was the states that did not have their plan in place as requested.

Pelosi said Biden will implement the defense production act for PPE,something else that Trump refused to do.

Why is she standing up there spreading blatant lies ?

Ones that can so easily be fact checked.

Because the left has zero interest in unity and every interests in continuing the narrative of hate and divisiveness.

Pipelines are about the most NIMBY item on Canadians' shopping list. The supporters of Keystone are nowhere to be found except in the oil patch of Alberta. We don't want any more in Canada, we've got plenty as is.

Yes but even the NIMBY have a voice and are your fellow country folk, there are already those who feel this is going to be a sticking point in future negotiations concerning anything.

Or maybe they are not considered honorary Canadians?

Even more so when the retirement accounts that were used to fund it will go poof.

They really will have no choice but to bring it to the international courts.

^ But not all are from that view or contenance. Sadly now within the country there's little desire or places for crucial dialog -- for crucial times such as this.

And these incoming issues and politics to policy therein will assuredly impact Detroit! So if not discussed here [[or the Detroit part of this site), then where?

Alberta must be somewhere in Canadian flyover country; an unimportant place that doesn't make laws. Canada can do what it will. If Trump put an import tax on a Canadian product, there was an uproar. Not so much it seems if Biden clips Canada. I'm more concerned about what Biden's action does to the United States. One thousand workers were already laid off because of this Biden action.

The oil will instead go to China. Joe can replace the oil with wind and solar technologies from China. Putin and Xi couldn't have crafted a better plan. Our jobs, cost of living and opportunities will suffer. It will hurt out allies in Canada and Europe while doing nothing for the environment.

There we go again... Communist... Socialist... Seems like some of us are not worried about finding a communist under every bed. These labels are so degrading... anyone with any semblence of the art of the debate knows that you don't start with an ad hominem label. It's why so little of what is spoken on this Non-Detroit forum is little more than a food fight. Having a logical discussion [[Oladub is one person I disagree with that I can have an honest discussion with)... becomes next to impossible when people come into them closed minded. ^ stop mucking up the forum with distractions outside of the topic, there is an entire hate Trump thread with over 200,000 posts of demonized posters, lest you forget it has been all about demonizing Trump supporters and the Man and never about actually discussing the policies.

Now that some have had their say, time to shut it down.

Remember the whole Russian collusion conspiracy where you did not want to hear anything outside of it was real?

Do you have any views on Biden? Which is the thread topic.

Most people in discussions are not like others, who believe in categorization of the entire group of people based on their political preference.

Somebody has to be asleep not to see how the democrat party has evolved from what it once was.

It now consists of the basic conservative democrats, the socialists that have attached themselves to the democrat party and the progressives that have also attached themselves to the democrat party.

I know lots of conservative democrats that are old school and they want nothing to do with the progressives and socialists that have attached themselves.

It is just common sense of somebody says, the socialists,if you are not a socialist then you are not going to be worried about it,as they say if the shoe fits wear it.

If one supports socialist policies then it would be safe to assume they are a socialist.

You never hear Bernie Sanders being called a right wing nut case.

Lets be honest, you guys have labeled Trump supporters from day 1 as deplorable and all are far right,KKK members that should be abolished from society.

Did anybody on the left ever agree that the Russian collusion conspiracy was not real ?

No,they fought that belief even after it was proved wrong, they also have not said, well hell we called that one wrong, sorry for calling all of you all those names because we did not agree with you.

The capital building is a perfect example,it was Trump supporters, they are all evil and need to be dealt with accordingly.

They are your enemy and you need to be wary of them.

No difference then the last four years, heck your own leaders impeached the guy based on zero evidence and refused to except the evidence as fact when it was presented.

Not to even mention, again, spent 3 years and millions of taxpayer dollars pushing a false narrative while demonizing Trump supporters.

It could be worse,we can call you Antifa, just like you call all of us far right nut jobs.

They are still out there tonight destroying buildings and terrorizing the police and citizens, notice how the NG is no where to be seen?

When you open your door and invited the socialists and progressives in for the vote, you had to figure if you are making a deal with the devil then you have to expect to get burnt.

You guys went that route because you hated somebody so much, that you sold the party soul in order to get rid of him.

Yes I do.... after Trump really dropped the ball on Covid-19, I am pleased that Biden is taking it seriously. We've lost over 400,000 people to Covid, and that is a national tragedy... that Biden is going to use his presidential powers to try to flatten the curve. Mask wearing in businesses should be mandatory nationwide... and other effective measures. Problem is that so many people in this country have been following the former presidents lead in not wearing masks nor social distancing [[such as White House functions)... that it will be a very difficult time for Biden to get those folks on board... unless he enacts some draconian measures... which if it saves lives, is not such a bad idea.

Glad that Biden has retained Dr. Fauci... and Fauci feels liberated after being constrained by the Trump team.

^ please show me where the federal government can mandate mask use in private business?

The federal government can only mandate federal things, they cannot force any state or city to bend to their mandate.

I am not arguing that there should or should not be a mask mandate, only the point of what exactly people think the role the federal government plays and the understanding of the power they have over states.

People keep repeating Trump dropped the ball without understanding the role of the federal government and the limitations they have when it comes to forcing states to do as they wish.

That all falls under the separation of power.

Example recently is with the virus shot distribution, that was not the federal governments role, they pushed and received the ability to have the shot, they can even warehouse millions of shots, but they cannot dictate to the states on how to make sure that shot gets into your arm.

It is on the individual states to have that plan in place.

Remember Trump wanted to use the major pharmacies like CVS and it was supposed to be free to everybody.

But no,the states and for profits wanted to charge for it and rejected that plan.

Then it became, how come CVS and not Wal-Mart or My store because it would bring thousands into my business and they just might buy something while they are waiting in line.

He could have only based a recommendation on the federal level and not forced to states to do anything.

Who dropped the ball in Michigan when it received the billions and made the decision to spread the funds out,not based on hardest hit but according to population size?

That was not Trump making that decision.

How exactly did Trump drop the ball when you now have a cure when everybody said it was going to be a minimum of 4 years before one could be developed, that says he kicked the ball out of the field.

No other country in the world was able to achieve that,I know it is tough, the one person some hate the most in life turns out to be the one that actually fought to save their life more then any other country in the world.

As much as you hate him,he will always be known as the one who brought the cure to the world, when the world said it was impossible.

That is a fact and does not make me a boot licker or a far right Trump lover, but I bet nobody even whispers a thank you.

The appreciation that he is shown for that fact in this country -impeach the MFR

Me personally I was raised differently, where if somebody saves you life, you say thank you and not kick them in the nuts.

If Biden mandates wearing a mask on federal property,he needs to start wearing his,he was already called out on it immediately after he mandated it.

But that is no difference then all the other politicians creating mandates for everybody else but them.

Not a repub, right-winged, Trump devotee or anti-masking [[as you know) but I think we best pump-them-breaks on advocating 'draconian measures'.

Especially offering ideas like that to politicians who rarely adhere to that they dictate! As we have seen and not just from the Trump camp!

What does draconian mean? More to the point what 'could' it inspire? Applied to who, how and when, and by who? Advanced by what 'science'? The right science? Or the political eh' science?

Imagine the cache of draconian measures -- applied hastily. Yet ironically still having no measurable, factual impact on the virus?

Some may already have a great imagination of how certain measures would be applied! Starting out as good 'idea'!

Interesting to note,8 months ago 66% of those who were admitted into NY hospitals were following the strict lockdown procedures.

Where I am at,we have business mask orders,no large crowd orders, you are not supposed to hang out in a group in the bars and restaurants.

Our economy is still rolling, schools are still in session, businesses are open, with what supplies they have left after you guys locked down and shut down the supply chain, forcing many into bankruptcy.

Crazy Hugh, more businesses are going bankrupt or have closed their doors and laid everybody off because of supply chain issues verses the actual rona virus.

The way it looks, they are going to have to pump free money into the system until at the very least July or August otherwise the economy will crash hard.

It seems like after every traumatic event there is always somebody looking to save us from ourselves,by placing more restrictions on our rights and freedoms.

We are the government and we are here to help.

Moments ago, House GOP Rep. Marjorie Greene filed articles of impeachment against Joe Biden for his corrupt actions in Ukraine and allowing his son Hunter Biden to receive huge sums of money from foreign powers in exchange for political favors.
“President Joe Biden is unfit to hold the office of the Presidency,” she said a statement found on her website.

His pattern of abuse of power as President Obama’s Vice President is lengthy and disturbing. President Biden has demonstrated that he will do whatever it takes to bail out his son, Hunter, and line his family’s pockets with cash from corrupt foreign energy companies,” she added.
“President Biden is even on tape admitting to a quid pro quo with the Ukrainian government threatening to withhold $1,000,000,000 in foreign aid if they did not do his bidding. President Biden residing in the White House is a threat to national security and he must be immediately impeached,” she continues.
“Joe Biden abused the power of the Office of the Vice President, enabling bribery and other high crimes and misdemeanors, by allowing his son to influence the domestic policy of a foreign nation and accept various benefits—including financial compensation—from foreign nationals in exchange for certain favors,” the website reads.

Good ,nobody is above the law.

Next are all the democrats who encouraged and incited and showed their support for the violence and destruction during the summer of 2020.

By the standards set recently, one could very well say they supported an insurrection.

Funny how 4 months ago they were supporting the violence and justification of defunding the police.

But yet the police became their best friend when the violence that they encouraged all summer long showed up on their doorstep.

Just remember, nobody is above the law.
