Most of these late night talk show hosts are probably better informed than most of the people posting on here.

The GOP Is Consumed By Its Own Conspiracy Theories As Establishment Republicans Jump Ship

If crazy conspiracy theories are a cancer on the Republican Party, people like Mitch McConnell and Karl Rove have spent the last 20 years selling cigarettes to their base.

I actually preferred a bit of Jay Leno back when I was watching that stuff[[s). He at least took on both sides -- not so partisan bent, well beyond even being funny or satirical. As it goes I'd hate for those, new to this country to believe our late night-line up to be representative.

How sad we must really, REALLY appear... SMH... What you laugh at says alot.

Lately, when it's become difficult to set my worries aside, for me the funny ones dig deep into my anxieties, and turn them on their head.

People like Seth Meyers, Stephen Colbert, John Stewart, and Bill Maher, even Denis Miller make it their business to be informed in politics; it's what they get paid for. Of the lot, Bill Maher is a self proclaimed Independent and Denis Miller is right wing. They all know their stuff, they just manage to put a humorous spin on politics

I you mean me, yes, I'm talking about this side of the forum; Detroit issues is pretty much a given that Detroiters know more than someone from NY or LA.

Uh-oh! Chappelle can get out and eh' appropriately WOKE as expected!! With just a tad of push-back beyond the all-ok-our-saviors-are-here narrative. Just like more than a few other black folk [[oh the horror)! Hah!

Setting aside his content I am not so crazy about Dave Chappells general comedy. He too often steps on his one jokes and satire mid-delivery.

Interestingly, I've found some agreement with some things that Maher has said. He sounds less like he's taking his lines straight from some preferred [[or hot off a tweet) politic of the moment to appear a certain way. You have to throw that need of affirmation away to be free to say certain things.

Then on the other hand you best consider other factors before speaking if you are not moneyed. Never tell everything on your mind.

Black folk I know and I all disagree. Not exaggerating. Not just a few.
Even ones quick to remind, or strain not to: they're not black, they're "West Indian!"

The reason I don't have discussions with dogs is that they just keep barking as if they're intelligible.

We all know former President Trump will not be convicted of the impeachment charge. No one ever has. It's purely a political process. But how about any future civil or criminal charges ? Would the evidence as presented by the House Managers be enough to convince a jury or judge[[s) of at least partial responsibility on his part ? Would an injured law enforcement officer or relatives of a dead one have a case ? Would the presentation of such a case cause former President Trump to claim the exact constitutional opposite of what his defense team did for the impeachment ?.....That he was a sitting President at the time, thus making him immune to any civil or criminal prosecution ?

Those are fair questions. Maybe other former presidents can be tried for lying and conducting executive ordered wars and acts of war without declarations of war by Congress.
