The local broadcast blackouts also extended to all television markets that had at least a small portion of their area be within a 75-mile radius of the stadium. This explains why those games weren't televised on Toledo stations, Flint stations or Lansing stations either.
Sidenote: remember when every bar had antenna towers on their roofs back in the pre-cable days? They put those up so as to receive Lansing stations for Lions games back when the blackout rules were even stricter [[no local broadcast of any home game regardless of attendance or sellout).
