    I scanned a map as page sized, saved as jpeg, then hosted in what was formerly Picassa, now some google thing.

    That was the only way I found that I could easily load up large size images and share them. Is this what you wanted to know?

    Do a web search with the following phrase: "scan image as searchable pdf".

    I found several links that explain how and what to use.
