I think the big appeal will be for acceleration and torque rather than high end speed. These are toys of the rich. I muse on what will happen if there was a malfunction where the front and rear wheels suddenly turned while straight line driving.
At least when I get hit by one of these while trying to cross the street, I'll have the peace of mind to know that it wasn't burning fossil fuels.
Except the majority of pedestrian vs motor accidents and fatalities by pedestrian vs motor are by SUVs. Wouldn't it make more sense to restrict those licenses?

Of course it's true when looking at it through an urbanite lens. That's because they happen to be true, period. The laws of physics don't change based on whose lens you're looking through. Bigger heavier vehicles use more resources and are more dangerous to those outside the vehicle, no matter who is looking at them.
