I wish MORE people put up a sign that says "No matter where you are from, I'm glad that you're our neighbor". sad that [[so many) trump supporters are such miserable and hateful people.

Maybe so few Trump signs because the miserable and hateful people are stealing them.
While conducting the stop, police discovered several yard signs that appear to support President Donald Trump in the car. The driver eventually admitted to stealing the signs earlier in the night

On a side note, how exactly does a sign appear to show support, one would think either it does or does not.
Norton Shores police said they've taken six complaints in recent weeks. Most of the calls are related to missing Trump signs, but one resident also said a Biden sign was removed.

If were voting for Trump I'd make absolutely NO public display. Who needs all the drama and angst?! More than a few may do what they will either way anyway [[enveloped or at polling site) - all while putting forth a different face just so spare their families, coworkers or themselves the broad-brush judgement.
For sure I'd not make my vote indy/dem or repub public carelessly - why? Certainly not signs posted about our home. Certainly NOT before this election!
The Biden signs far outnumber Trump signs in SE Oakland County [[Royal Oak, Berkley, Huntington Woods, Pleasant Ridge, Ferndale, Oak Park). Also, if you see a Black Lives Matter, No Hate Here, or "In This House We Believe" sign in front of a house, it's a safe bet that those folks aren't voting for Trump.
Very risky indeed. Those Trump supporters have itchy trigger fingers. Some are probably perched at their window, waiting on something to go down.
That was my first thought but then I realized there were other, easier targets around that had not been vandalized. The vandalized sign stayed up for several days before being replaced.Very risky indeed. Those Trump supporters have itchy trigger fingers. Some are probably perched at their window, waiting on something to go down.
I'll just let the reader ponder about what might have actually happened. We'll probably never know.
This is like no other American election in modern history, if ever.
I suggest the difference this year is a significant percentage of the population are out of their minds in their support of their candidate, and easily enraged [[especially one side, ahem). That makes a lot of the rest of us reluctant to identify as favoring one side or the other. You never know what some crazy person may do.
I bought a Biden yard sign for my parents to put up in front of their home in a Detroit suburb. I was happy to pay the $25-- it included shipping, and I'll gladly contribute the rest. But even though they're definitely voting Biden, they won't put it up. They get along great with their neighbors, and everyone is very civil, but they still worry about potential problems.
Currently I'm visiting a different State, in a reddish swing district, and after more than a week here I haven't seen a single Biden sign, t-shirt, or bumper sticker. Even the neighbor who has for a long time had a bunch of other democratic bumper stickers doesn't have one. But the good news I've only seen a handful of trump signs [[if always BIG ones), and not a single trump bumper sticker, t-shirt, or maga hat. And several people have told me they support Biden, but they were careful about it, like they were confiding a secret.
This is what happens after 4 years of reckless division as a political strategy. How sad.
I have no idea how the election will turn out. Especially with people so on edge, I don't trust polls. But here's hoping we unify again come January. Vote!

"Conservative commentator George Will, noting the long-term movements of partisanship, said in 2012 : "White voters without college education—economically anxious and culturally conservative—were called 'Reagan Democrats' when they were considered only seasonal Republicans because of Ronald Reagan. Today they are called the Republican base". -Wikipedia from the article Reagan Democrat
Macomb County is considered the epicenter of Reagan Democrats defined as Democrats who defect from their Party. They voted for both Obama and Trump. They are swing voters. So how is the signage going in Macomb County? Reagan Democrats are crucial to an election victory in Michigan. If they don't want to be "unified" with the Harris administration and her friend in the basement, Democrats might have a tough time taking Michigan. VP candidate Harris twice attacked Trump's import taxes on Chinese products in her debate. She said Trump's import taxes on Chinese products raised prices. She is right but she said nothing about closed factories nationwide that have been replaced by Chinese production or about Her own Biden plan to tax American corporations by trillion$ instead. Is it better to saddle American corporations with high taxes than Chinese corporations? Those taxes will raise consumer costs too. Are Macomb's Reagan Democrats, as indicated by signage, buying into her vision?
“[[The) hard truth is that some of the jobs that have been lost in the auto industry and elsewhere won’t be coming back,” -President Obama of the Obama/Biden administration 2009
How is this message supposed to unify Reagan Democrats with socialism in Macomb County?

Went up to Davisburg today to play Springfield Oaks. Trump signs way outnumbered the Biden signs. Of course, hardly anybody lives up there so I’m not sure it makes a difference.
Today I asked my parents who live in a close Detroit suburb again about the Biden sign I bought them. They're enthusiastic Biden supporters. Previously they were saying they weren't going to put it up because so little traffic passes by their house they were going to ask their strong Democrat friends who live nearby on a busier street if they'll put it up in front of theirs. [[I could easily see through that.)
Now I learned their neighbors said they don't want to put up a Biden sign because they have some republican neighbors and didn't want trouble from them. So I asked my parents if that means they put it up. That's when the truth came out. They said they're afraid to because none of their neighbors have one, some are republican, and they don't want trouble either. I knew that already.
They have nice neighbors and they all do potlucks together, etc.. And my parents know their younger neighbors are Biden supporters. But they said, "It's the older ones we need to worry about." My parents are old too, but hmmm.
When gently pressed about it they said they really want to put up the sign so tomorrow they're going to talk to one of their other pro-Biden neighbors to see if they'd also be willing to put one up. Besides the Biden sign I bought my parents another that was politely Anti-Trump, and my parents will offer them their choice of them. They said if any of their neighbors are willing to put one up they'll put the other one up too. But they're afraid to do it alone.
So sad.
Days later, and after driving around a lot the past days, I still haven't seen a single Biden sign in the reddish swing district in the reddish swing state I'm visiting. But I've seen a few more Trump signs and pickups with a giant Trump flag flapping behind them.
I don't know what's going to happen this election. But it's shocking to me how our country has arrived at a place where so many people are afraid to display their political affiliation. Has it ever been like this before?

"Has it ever been like this before?"...... Not that I can remember but, then again, the last four/five years have been weird to say the least. I live in a mostly conservative/Trump loving area but, I'm seeing a lot more Biden signs going up in recent weeks. Even going into the neighboring two cities.

I believe at least some of the polarization can be traced back to the advent of cable news. Once upon a time [[30 or so years ago), there were three networks that provided relatively consistent facts in their evening news broadcasts. Your choice of which to watch was based on whether you preferred Brokaw, Jennings, or Rather. Cable networks came along and figured out, at some point, that they could market to a specific audience. While they do provide news, much of their reporting is biased. The result is that people are constantly bombarded with "news" that not only reinforces their own beliefs, it tells them that anyone with an opposing opinion is simply wrong, and deserving of scorn and derision."Has it ever been like this before?"...... Not that I can remember but, then again, the last four/five years have been weird to say the least. I live in a mostly conservative/Trump loving area but, I'm seeing a lot more Biden signs going up in recent weeks. Even going into the neighboring two cities.
Some say, "yes, but MSNBC is more objective than FOX," or "FOX is more objective than MSNBC." To that, I say that people invariably find the network they agree with to be the more objective. In other words, if you are more liberal or progressive, you will believe MSNBC to be more objective. If you are conservative, you will believe FOX to be more objective.
It's great marketing; but, it's changed the way people get and interpret news.
See also the Fairness Doctrine.
I recall back in the 70s when Detroit's channel seven [[and other stations around the country) started billing itself as "Action News." It seemed a laughably absurd oxymoron at the time because news broadcasting was notoriously boring. But that boredom was by design. News broadcasting was considered a gravely serious public service. If it lost money, that was simply considered part of the price of a license to broadcast on the public airwaves. Broadcasters had to make their money elsewhere. Today we have infotainment instead.
To this day whenever I want to mock something that is boring but tries to appear exciting, I think of Channel 7 Action News.
Imagine seeing a sign for Bob's Action Mortuary. Ha!
This Trump supporter suspects Biden has the margin, close as it may be. I just hope everyone takes the result in stride and lets the world go on. Frankly, I don't much care who is President unless it is some Joseph Stalin. But there ain't too many of them around.
My street in Rochester Hills is currently Biden 7, Trump 3 when it comes to signs.
Has anyone seen any properties where the owner has put out a Biden sign with Republican signs? I haven't seen any instances where that was done by the owner [[I'm not interested in places like empty parcels where people have shoved signs).
Just sayin'. In view of today's political climates, I think putting any sign, one way or another, invites a goonie of the opposite side to destroy the property the sign is on. It happens. Both sides. Extreme lefts and rights should tell you to keep it to yourself. Lousy way to run a country, but I don't feel like scraping eggs off my picture windows.
Meandering about on country dirt roads on a fall colors tour northwest of Milford yesterday, I was surprised to see quite a few Biden yard signs. They were outnumbered about 2-3 to 1 by the other side but I was expecting next to zero from past experience.

I've seen quite a lot of Biden/Harris signs in Detroit and Oakland County [[saw no Trump in Ferndale or Royal Oak).
Dearborn north of Michigan Ave. is a 2 to 1 ratio favoring Biden over Trump in signs....south of Michigan Ave. it's an even 50/50.
Around the Taylor/Southern Dearborn Heights area I've actually seen a sign on someone's lawn generally stating that "Our governor is a moron." [[and not far from a truly horrible garage sale I wandered into where no one wore masks, they sold scratched up CDs and dirty seashells, and idiots were on the front porch talking about how Mel Gibson was going to bust up those elitist pedophile rings in Hollywood)....a week later I saw a minivan with a horrible decal of Bill Watterson's Calvin pissing on the word Gretchen....all before the kidnapping reveal...have to wonder if they are still persisting with those idiotic expressions of hate.

Richard, nobody cares enough to steal his signs. I know I don't. He's going to lose anyway. But he swears that people are dumping their ballots with his name on them in the garbage. He's setting this up as to put doubt in the election process if the race is close. If Biden blows him out in a landslide he can't complain.
So to wrap up the saga of the Biden sign [[and an Americans Against Trump sign) I bought for my parents, they could find no neighbors willing to put one up with them and they feel too uncomfortable to put up a sign alone. For now they'll stay in the garage.
I also bought a Biden sign for a family member who lives in a far northwestern exurb and he won't put it up either. He's out by where several of the wannabe terrorists who were plotting to kidnap the governor are from. He said when the sign arrived the package identified it was from the Biden campaign and the mail carrier handed it over to him saying, "Here's your Biden sign" with a sneer.
I'm now back home from the reddish district of the reddish swing state I was visiting and I didn't see a single Biden sign, bumper sticker, or t-shirt even once during the 10 days I was there.
I don't take any of this to mean there aren't a lot of people who are voting Biden. From the many conversations I've had Biden supporters are afraid to show it for fear of what rabid supporters of the polarizer-in-chief will do.

And then there is the issue with the Biden Store on line not being able to keep up with demand of Biden products. They are over a month behind of fulfilling orders; not a win/win but a sign of how many orders there are. I've been waiting from my Biden is a Willie Big Deal shirt since Sept. Hasn't even shipped
Driving around Grosse Pointe Park and Grosse Pointe City today, I was amazed at how many Biden signs that were on lawns, a fair amount of Trump signs, but easily more Biden signs, wow how the Pointes have changed over the years. Also, was up near the cabin, near Gaylord last week , An area where you see nothing but Trump signs usually and was absolutely shocked to see some very large Biden / Harris signs on some of the farms and several of the smaller homes, as well as a couple of the small businesses in the town’s windows. Now that was a shocker.
The one that says “ Alexa, change the President....Biden/ Harris 2020 was my favorite.

I also think there are 'public' lawn signs and what all, and then that private vote factor that will occur as well. HAH!
