    Heck, I thought maybe the the old tunnel entering Belle Isle? I didn't know where to post this without starting a new thread. I'll give it a day or too.

    Ray didn't go to the DPD Academy until 1959 and the cycle brigade until 1965; so, no, he's not in that photo.

    That IS where it is... I remember that tunnel as it went under Jefferson from the Isle. I was a kid.

    Yep, folks would honk their horns under Jefferson. At one time you could walk through the underpass.

    It was the large sign that read "DO NOT SOUND HORN" that invited much of it,.
