The pandemic is giving people vivid, unusual dreams. Here’s why. Here's one of mine.Researchers explain why withdrawal from our usual environments—due to social distancing—has left dreamers with a dearth of “inspiration.”
I was outdoors watching a utility crew preparing for their job. They needed to get a ladder off the top of their large truck. One worker climbed up and stood on top of the ladder as if it were a pair of snow skis. He slid off the truck, standing on the ladder. He even had a pair of ski poles. I thought he must be very skilled to be able to do that so confidently.
Then it all went horribly wrong. He got caught up in a wind and started sailing upwards as if off a ski jump, up to maybe 60 or 70 feet. He stopped abruptly and plummeted straight down, presumably to his death. Thankfully, I wasn't positioned to see his landing.
It wasn't really a traumatic nightmare because during the dream I somehow understood it wasn't real — just very bizarre.
