New Downtown vs. Old Downtown Detroit

Whatever happened to all of the downtown pigeons? I recall as a kid [[late 60s-70s) them all over the parks downtown, south of where the old Hudson's building stood for example.

They nested some Peregrine Falcons on the rooftop of the Guardian Building many years ago... not sure they are still there... but they may have scared off all the pigeons.

I can verify that the first appearance of "Cass Corridor" in the Free Press was 1/30/1970, assuming that newspapers.com isn't missing any issues in that timeframe.

"Midtown Detroit" was often used over the decades, but in a generic sense. I.E., "midtown businesses" or "mid-town apartments." It wasn't a stand-alone, capitalized "Midtown."
