They nested some Peregrine Falcons on the rooftop of the Guardian Building many years ago... not sure they are still there... but they may have scared off all the pigeons.

I can verify that the first appearance of "Cass Corridor" in the Free Press was 1/30/1970, assuming that newspapers.com isn't missing any issues in that timeframe.
"Midtown Detroit" was often used over the decades, but in a generic sense. I.E., "midtown businesses" or "mid-town apartments." It wasn't a stand-alone, capitalized "Midtown."
