The home already is on jacks in preparation for the move to property on Forest Avenue, a block from its current location.

Thanks for the links Pam!
The David MacKenzie House was going to be razed in the 1970s for of all things... a storm drain. That got a group of active WSU students to protest and in 1975 they joined together as Preservation Wayne [[today Preservation Detroit). Their outcry and the ensuing controversy helped save the house [[something that I would think that WSU today is thankful for).
I've been inside many times [[it was home to Preservation Wayne for many years).
I am very excited about the new expanded Hillberry Theatre complex. It will really be a sight to behold on Cass Ave. One crown jewel saved, another expanded.

Very happy this is being saved. It had been offices for the theatre dept, Bonstelle and Hilberry, up until the early 70's. Then they moved their offices, and shops, into 95 Hancock vacating this house and the old shop spaces. I used to enjoy having meetings in the second floor round room which was the lighting professor's office.
Video of the house moving.
