Detroit didn't even make Amazon's top 20. Gilbert and Duggan were played and they're just trying to save face. NYC and DC were already Amazon's #2 and #3 satellite offices, so the ruse was just to rake proprietary intel and extort billions from locales those satellite offices were already in [[under threat they'd lose current/future jobs). It was a scam.
I encourage everyone to read this interesting NYT piece on Nashville, which is where Detroit's Jack White and Kid Rock have moved. It characterizes Nashville as a booming tier 2 or 3 American city – which makes Detroit, what, tier 4 or 5? Not good. We have a lot of catching up to do. Getting Oakland and Macomb to bankroll trains to nowhere is the least of the region's concerns.

When did Kid Rock move there? I thought he bought a mansion in Indian Village a while back.
