Let me share a speech LBrooksP gave in 1998:
    https://redrundrain.wordpress.com/20...rain-lbrooksp/

Instead of doing it properly, he put on a band-aid on a tsunami of shit.
The county "had" ranked 7th in the USA for median household income
The tax base was there - HE didn't want to get the InfraStructure funding
Michigan's [[relative) decline in median household income ranks has nothing to do with Brooks or anyone, really.

The fastest growing counties by median income are all tech-oriented counties, mostly on the West Coast, or [[in previous years) energy-extraction economies in the Central/Western U.S. Silly to blame anyone for Michigan's lack of oil, mining prospects or not having Stanford.

2020, which he said he wouldn't run again.

OC has been on a left-leaning trajectory for decades, it has nothing to do with Trump. This is the tipping point.

now that Mike Bishop failed to retain his congressional seat, would he run in 2020 for Oakland executive?

Let me put it this way :
Because LBrooksP always threw the shit over the wall - onto others -,
the county, never payed it's fair share of infrastructure costs !!!!!
The county has money, since it never spent much of its own.

Oakland has high median family income, pegged at more than
$96,000 a year, after U-M experts adjusted it for local cost of living.
That was done so as to compare it — apples to apples —
with other counties on both U.S. coasts,
where housing and other costs are much higher.
Oakland’s family income figure was ranked 14th highest in the nation
by the U-M experts. [[2018 study done here in Michigan)

NOW if the taxes went up - to support infrastructure needs -
that means less in the pocket of those residents and LBrooksP looses his job.

Remember what is in Oakland County

    • Hazel Park [[48030), Median household income was $35,042 and 9 percent of adults had college degrees.
    • Pontiac [[48342) Median household income was $20,398 and 7 percent of adults had college degrees

LBrooksP isn't , and wasn't, all that and a bag of chips ....................
The county has some MAJOR challenges to overcome and deal with 2018+

What tedium are you pedaling now?

OC doesn’t pay what you think is fair for sewage? You made that point years ago and make that same point with almost every post.

    Almost e v e r y p o s t.

Whether the threads are about emissions, DC3 seating charts, hair transplants, radio frequencies or manual shifting patterns on the Ford Mustang.

    True

Perhaps you have selective reading disorder.
I've started threads where I don't mention Lewis at all, or water/sewage.

Default L Brooks here for the duration...

...ending speculation that he might toss the job to a successor before Dems take over the Commission.

I kind of suspected he would. He enjoys being a center of attention too much.

I'm glad he didn't circumvent democracy. This also means that dems have a much better chance of flipping the county exec seat next election. I've got strong mixed feelings about Patterson. He's effectively ran the county government, but his past statement weigh heavily. I'm also very disappointed he used a recent budget surplus to provide tax breaks instead of using it on neglected county roads.
