    OK, so apparently it wasn't a school in my time which is why I don't remember it:

    "The needs of the growing school quickly exceeded the capacity of the leased facility. In 2005 the Board of Directors secured financing for the purchase and renovation of a 120,000 square foot former industrial facility, located on nine acres, on Burt Road in Detroit. "

    Although not explicitly mentioned in that link, Detroit Community started out in St. Suzanne's grade school building until it needed something bigger.

    That small gym made high school basketball games interesting. Also fans sat in old pews instead of bleachers.
