Take a underskin ID chip like the pets then there will be peace and universal harmony. Then just get the fast pass wave your arms and all the problems are solved. Oh btw it you want to have stores in Detroit implement the same system, only pre approved shoppers will be allowed in the store with their underskin approval chip. You will be scanned to get in and to check out.

If you have nothing to hide why wear clothes?

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but does anyone know what current U.S. passport processing time is?

I applied for a book. It's technically a renewal I think even though my old book is expired.

    Just being helpful.

I believe it's about six weeks, but someone else here might have better info.

They cannot deny you re-entry back into the U.S. if you are a citizen. They will probably send you to the immigration office at the U.S. Customs checkpoint, where they will ask for you social security number to verify that you are indeed a citizen. They'll also probably search your car just so that the other guards have something to do while waiting for you to get verified.

But as someone said above, the Canadians will probably deny you entry into Canada without the proper documents to verify your citizenship.

We renewed our expired passports by mail back in May and it only took them about four weeks to process the renewal. We also applied for the passport card at the same time and they came in a separate mailing about one week later.

So, Milesdriven, how did the borber crossing go? Did you attempt Lowell's suggestion? I was looking for some follow up here on your story and didn't find the "Rest of the Story".

Well I got the massive document called the "enhanced license" in the mail today. In it's protective sleeve, and ready to hit Windsor.

No, we looked at the line to come back to the US and decided to stop in Detroit on the way home instead.

Has anyone gone to Windsor without a passport and had trouble getting back into Detroit?

Are you serious? I am thinking of going to Canada overnight and am worried i will have trouble getting back into the u.s. because the law says you need a passport.

I would suggest getting the proper identification. I have an enhanced drivers license that works well.

You won't have a problem getting back to Detroit, because you won't be leaving Detroit. Going to Canada? Need the proper ID, either passport or the enhanced driver's license.
