Does Detroit adhere to a vastly different protocol for approval ?

No doubt Detroit is a place to modify expectations.
A rental record becomes gold, just like a great credit rating.
Anything from the NINJA - No Income, No Job Applicant
to the multiple Evictions applicant, etc., etc. becomes a hassle.
People will try to pass off a friend or family member as a prior landlord.
A landlord has to pull public records for the building owner.
Those who want to pay multiple months in advance are suspect.
A stable job is perhaps the criteria needed most.
