Celebrated today in Washington at the Wizards/Bucks game.
Did a good job remembering the day. They take it seriously.
I just so happened to visit the park today without even seeing this post! Magnificent work from Graves.
It's sad, this day should be honored for a great man, that tried to make a difference for all. it's just another day to most people. A day off work. The simpleton POTUS didn't even acknowledge it, he was on the golf course [[every freakin day it seems) and then Twitter, because he was too busy lying and trying to put out his own political fires.

Or maybe you want to believe that. It's sad, this day should be honored for a great man, that tried to make a difference for all. it's just another day to most people. A day off work. Dr. King's dream is our dream,” Trump said. “It is the American Dream. It's the promise stitched into the fabric of our Nation, etched into the hearts of our people, and written into the soul of humankind."
A simple search shows quite a few public acknowledgements from in the White House signing the proculation to twitter, also several from his wife.
Yes he said some things the Friday before but spent the day golfing in Florida. Contrast that to everything other president since Clinton who spent the day being charitable.
So what is it,one says he made no comments the other agrees that he did, what is worse useing the day as a anti Trump plug or showing who the better person is.
Using the day? It is simply a statement of fact that he was the first president to not give back on MLK since it became an official holiday. Some might consider playing golf for the 90+ time of his presidency as a great way to honor MLK, I do not. He did say something though so I guess its kewl.
Considering how everything he says gets twisted into a fiasco it was probably wise of him to play golf and not say anything that would have distracted from what the day was about.
Oddly enough I was closed yesterday and had phone calls from some of my African American customers asking why I was not open, they did not even know what day it was.
You keep lowering that bar for the man.
I thought conservatives don't do the race thing or see any differences in people? Weird.
Yes, the president gets into less trouble on the golf course than in the Oval Office. Maybe he could golf more.
Nothing more than "Fluff" He had to make a statement. It would be disingenuous, if he said nothing. Like he truly means it. I don't believe "anything" that comes out of his mouth.Or maybe you want to believe that.

And that is the beauty of living in the country that we do,we can publicly disagree and voice our opinions and live to see another day.
If everybody agreed with and supported a president then we would be a dictatorship,a little opposition is good,
That's funny, and inaccurate. Trump is trying to dictate everything.

So name one president in the history of the country that has not, they do not get up there and say, okay, tell me what to do now.
There is a system of checks and balances in place to ensure that does not happen and if that fails, there are a bunch of guys n gals with guns to make sure it goes back in place.
The same guns that the left wants to take away so they can actually put a dictator in place or realize there dreams of a socialist country.
He is not doing anything different then every other president has done, outside of telling it like it is verses sugar coating to make you smile and be happy while getting bent over.
Whether telling it like it is or sugarcoating it, you're getting bent over both ways. Don't know about you, but I'd rather be kissed before I'm screwed. I don't have to ask where your loyalties lie, and that's too bad. We can agree to disagree.

My loyalties lie with my country and my fellow Amercians, first and foremost and that does not include throwing them under a bus in order to show my displeasure,or throwing the baby out with the bath water.
The difference is the ability to disagree without thinking less of the person that one disagrees with and still be able to sit down and have a beer with them at the end of the day.
Wait, people are upset Trump golfed during MLK day? You want this vile white supremacist/carnival clown opining on civil rights and Dr. King? Seriously?
I hope Trump golfs every remaining day of his Presidency.
Lots of big deals and decisions have been made on the golf course.
