Any theories or ideas on why Mayor Duggan and the city haven't incorporated deconstruction into the huge Federally funding home razing effort? Or just the general demise of the idea?
Five years ago the idea seemed like a promising way to reuse and sell the quality old growth wood of Detroit homes and put unemployed residents to work. The Reclaim Detroit and Focus Hope partnership appeared to be working but then the huge warehouse fire at Reclaim Detroit obviously set it back. Now it seems like the idea is dead in the water.
