    "Change of scenery"?

I say that tongue in cheek, but maybe the players are happier playing downtown rather than way out...

The Pistons, as a whole, likely have significantly longer commutes to their new location. It's actually downtown that is quite removed from the region's wealthier locales.

And the Pistons attendance ranking has dropped this year. They actually were a relatively better draw with their bad team in the Palace last year, which is kinda stunning, given they're playing in a brand new arena with an actual quality team.

Average attendance this season so far is higher than it was last season, despite ridiculously high ticket and parking prices at the new arena.

They can say the lower sideline season ticket areas are sold but there are lots of empty seats in the lower corners for both teams. The Pistons are inflating ticket sales about 5,000 per game and for the Wings to announce every game is a sellout has been a running joke for years.

Detroit just finished off Miami to complete a 5-game home stand with a 5-0 record. They are playing some great ball so far, but it is very concerning that they play at their best once they go down 10+ points. Tonight was their 5th win of the year after going down 10 or more. This will come back to bite them later in the year when their legs are more tired.

9 of their next 11 are on the road, starting at Milwaukee on Wednesday. Road games are always a good test. We'll see in the next few weeks. But I can say I'm very happy with their start for sure.

I agree with what you're saying. Their deep bench is certainly going to help over the long season. Van Gundy needs to make sure he doesn't over work Jackson and Drummond. As long as you avoid Cleveland and Boston in the first round it's not worth pushing for a 3rd or 4th seed.

Enjoy while it lasts, coming into Wednesday's matchup the Pistons are in first place in the Central Division of the Eastern Conference with a 10-3 record.

Even Cleveland right now has accumulated more losses so far this season.

Wow. Pistons take out the red-hot Celtics on their parquet. Another huge road win over a top tier team. Andre Drummond was a mega star with a 20-20 game and, once again the big story of this season, 6-8 on the free throw line. Boston tried on hack-a-Drum in the 4th quarter. He made one of two and they never tried it again.

They certainly deserve a legitimate 15,000+ at home tomorrow night. They may not draw until after Christmas though.

0-4 road trip and now come home to face the Warriors & Celtics. There goes your fast start to the season.

Everyone knew they could not keep up the pace they were going at to start the season. SVG warned us there would be a couple losing streaks along the way with a young team.

Now they have to play up to the opponents coming in, just as they took care of business against them on the road last month. It should be an exciting weekend at LCA.

And those two teams will be coming in with attitude, the Pistons having beaten them on their own floors. The 0-4 doesn't tell the full story as the Pistons were in those games until the end. Still, they are one impact player away from being for real.

Agreed. They fought hard and should have come away with one of the last two games. They badly need a small forward who can score. Stanley Johnson just isn't cutting it.

Default Reggie Jackson Out 6-8 Weeks

    http://www.detroitnews.com/story/spo...ain/108944614/

This will be a huge blow to Detroit's only playoff team. Jackson has been playing better lately, increasing his assist total, and taking a few less dumb shots down the stretch of games. The drop off will be felt not so much from Jackson to Smith in the starting role, but there is no backup to takeover for Smith. They need to go out and find somebody quick.

Sounds like Galloway will be the backup in the near future. He's played PG in the past, just not for the Pistons. Can we get Brandon Jennings on a plane from China?

Lol, let Jennings stay over there. Maybe they sign someone from the G League, or recently released Phoenix rookie Mike James. Not a big Reggie Jackson fan, just hope they don't start another losing streak. They need Bradley back too.

Pistons will do fine without him. in 10 weeks Jackson will be shooting three pointers.

I think they need to look at signing a backup from the G league. Any trade options would likely involve Tobias Harris or Andre Drummond, two pieces that like them or not are critical to playoff hopes, let alone home court positioning.

Yeah, as soon as you say they'll be alright, they lose to Orlando which was bad loss, Orlando was on a 9 game losing streak. Never should have loss that game, even without Reggie. Now they get San Antonio on Saturday. That's how losing streaks start, beat the teams you're suppose to beat.

That's the problem with having Smith start. It weakens both the starters and bench. Smith is ideally suited to coming in for short periods with his energy and shoot first mentality. Ideally they need a veteran point guard who could start and play 30 minutes.

Well... the Jekyll and Hyde Pistons jumped on the Spurs, and never trailed, 93-79, with Johnson, Jackson, Leuer and Bradley all out with injuries. Best game they've played in a while, after that fiasco in Orlando.

With their wins against top teams this year, it does make you question their effort in a lot of games. It's partly effort and mostly, like a lot of middle-of-the-pack teams, they are streaky shooters and not capable of being consistent every night.

Hopefully they'll make the playoffs and actually win some games.
