Almost 10 years later and the grand dame gets a facelift. Plus, we're getting a Starbucks Reserve. Does this that Washington Blvd. is becoming fashionable once again?

I think this says something about the improving quality of the downtown hotel market. Marriott is certainly not one to slack in brand quality, but to invest millions into a property that still sets the standard in the local market means they want to remain at the top and see others could be approaching their quality. It's good to keep things fresh.

To me Book Tower, Book Cadillac, MCS [[if/when...) and maybe the Packard Plant [[if/when...) are the poster boys and proof of Detroit renewal.
