We have the luxury of hindsite back into 2016.
Look at the polling numbers, even into the eve of the election the polling had Hillary winning by a landslide.
The silent majority were those who did not discuss politics and did not let anybody know who they intended on voting for, they just walked into the polls and voted.
You and I are here discussing politics but we are only two out of over a hundred million that voted,we cannot possibly even debate how everybody will vote with certainty with those kind of numbers.
If anything was learned in 2016 was the lesson of presidential voting is not determined by the popular vote, like in local and state elections and how many people voting actually understood that, and still do not.
I spent a year in Afghanistan assisting doctors. Does that count?Have you ever spent time in a shit hole country watching doctors patching up women and children that were hacked up with machetes because of thier religious beliefs on the dirt floor of a hut?
You can bet that it makes time in an emergency department on a weekend anywhere in this country a walk in the park.
I don't even understand what he was talking about. What about the millions of Koreans, Vietnamese, Laotians, Cambodians whose countries were bombed, and defoliated regardless of their political or religious beliefs? How much misery has the United States Government visited on people since the second world war, and it still goes on...
If you start mixing the Dog bless into it, it becomes just that more palatable, eh?
What a Democratic socialist convention is like.

No wonder they have problems with simple common sense and understanding normality.
Yep and you would agree it does not hold a candle to spending a weekend night in a Detroit emergency room.
I am not sure why you even posted the question to me in the way that you did, like you were the only singular person in the world to hold a stressful job.
I would agree a trauma nurse or nursing in general is underrated but in the realm of stressful jobs, you still get to go home at the end of the shift plus there are 2.6 million nurses in the country that could also relate to the unwinding aspect.
I would think a police officer that spends a shift not knowing if they will return to thier family at the end of a shift would rank up there.

Jesus tap-dancing Christ!! You asked me a question:
I answered. That's all.Have you ever spent time in a shit hole country watching doctors patching up women and children that were hacked up with machetes because of thier religious beliefs on the dirt floor of a hut?
You can bet that it makes time in an emergency department on a weekend anywhere in this country a walk in the park.
I'm not sure why you asked me the above question then wrote a novella in which my takeaway was something something World War II.
Please let's drop whatever this conversation is about.
Thank you.
Johnson was a Democrat so this is the right thread for discussing the almost 60,000 American dead and all the dead SE Asians to the extent the U.S. was responsible. Nixon ended Johnson's war and the the draft [[involuntary servitude) for good measure. I'm not taking W. Bush off the hook for the 6,000 American dead in Iraq either. Or Clinton for bombing Serbia, Obama for destroying Libya and trying to overthrow Assad, and Trump for destroying arms treaties. What about the millions of Koreans, Vietnamese, Laotians, Cambodians whose countries were bombed, and defoliated regardless of their political or religious beliefs? How much misery has the United States Government visited on people since the second world war, and it still goes on...

Of all the presidential candidates, Tulsi Gabbard is the only candidate pushing a more restrained foreign policy although Bernie gets credit for voting against giving Bush the power to wage war in Iraq. The rest of the Democratic candidates are silent or part of the problem.
Interesting way to unwind, get involved in a political discussion.
What are your views towards religion?
That is what my comment was,it actually was not a question, politics and religion are the most hotly debated subjects on the Internet.
your whole stress unwinding foray was between other posters, until you drug me into it with the whole not spending a weekend in a Detroit emergency room, like I could not relate or understand to what a stressful job was.
You used it as a jab towards me,for what ever reason, then you did not like or comprehend the context of the response.
So once again you reply with yet another jab or attempt at a cut, when it was you that did not comprehend what I posted.
You confused me with another poster that you flat out swore at,which weather you agreed with him or not, cussing somebody out in a public forum that you do not agree with, even more so when a block option is offered,is not very nice.
Lets be realistic here, you joined a forum, which you had every right to do,and your first posts are based in a political discussion, which you also have a right to do,but right off the bat it is into attack mode with those who you do not agree with.
Which seems to be a common theme, but do you seriously think that you will not receive push back when you push back against others?
We can have a discussion where we disagree without the ever popular cut down of those we do not agree with,I will respond towards a cut towards me but nobody will ever find a post instigated by me that was started by a cut in response to a discussion.
How many people in the real world have a discussion with a stranger where when the disagree with them they automatically start calling them names or try and belittle them with stupid comments,it does not fly where I live or have ever lived,so why do it on the internet?
Unless one considers themselves a part of the resistance and ad hominem is the real objective, then it is understandable.

^ thanks for the suggestion but if I wanted to ignore everybody that I did not agree with I would just move to someplace like China, where everybody is forced to think and respond as a collective.
Ad hominem [[Latin for "to the person"),[1]short for argumentum ad hominem, typically refers to a fallacious argumentative strategy whereby genuine discussion of the topic at hand is avoided by instead attacking the character, motive, or other attribute of the person making the argument, or persons associated with the argument, rather than attacking the substance of the argument itself.[2]
Hillary has not made it to Dyes servers yet so it is easy to follow posts and see where it originates and applies, then just deflect blame on others.

Is that the reason for Trump's indelicate assumption that American Jews who vote Dem are unpatriotic, etc... Nice turn on the Deplorables...

^ noooooo I read it on the internet it is truuuuue.
They had another funny one that showed a massive convoy of liberal democrat Americans marching to Venezuela in order to storm thier border.
Biden weighs in: Racism in US is institutional, 'white man's problem'
From article:
Racism in America is an institutional "white man's problem visited on people of color," Vice President Joe Biden said, arguing that the way to attack the issue is to defeat President Donald Trump and hold him responsible for deepening the nation's racial divide.
Taking aim at incendiary racial appeals by Trump, Biden said in an interview with a small group of reporters on Tuesday that a president's words can "appeal to the worst damn instincts of human nature," just as they can move markets or take a nation into war.
Biden is leading his Democratic challengers for the presidential nomination in almost all polls, largely because of the support of black voters. He has made appealing to them central to his candidacy and vowed to make maximizing black and Latino turnout an "overwhelming focus" of his effort. The interview, more than an hour long, focused largely on racial issues.
"White folks are the reason we have institutional racism," Biden said. "There has always been racism in America. White supremacists have always existed, they still exist." He added later that in his administration, it would "not be tolerated."

^ a few Dems have stated the target would be African American voters that supported Obama but then supported Trump or just did not vote.
Bindens camp is also concentrating on the highly religious African Americans in the Carolinas and popping up to go to church with them, but I am thinking they know the difference in sincerity.
To me his blame whitey comments are a disservice to the African American community that rose above and created thier own destiny instead of looking for people to blame.
He should be praiseing them on thier accomplishments instead of looking to further divide by looking for reasons or excuses to blame others.
If he has not looked in the mirror,he is white so is it also not conceivable as a whitey and even more when he was with Obama, how did the African American community fare?
Even more so how has the inner city African Americans fared in the last 50 years under his party and in a lot of those cities that is not whitey in charge as mayors and city councils.
There are a lot of African Americans that positively helped change the world we live in for the better, but yet instead of bringing them into the limelight and providing positive role models they pound rappers and blame whitey into ones head.

^Hah! Again being 'handled' for votes...... Who really trusts racial groups doing this? Sure, his approach gains some short-term applause. But as I've mentioned, this self-loathing 'over-doing-it' comes off fake!
And ironically [[and cynically) but just another 'white supremacy' sponsored presentation to the targeted audience.
Further, I suppose Biden's forgotten how this approach may push some white voters to the Trump side just to escape the accusation and associated not a 'problem' proof-tests in general.

I also understood that you conveniently neglected to disclose it as satire, leaving unwitting readers to possibly accept it as truth.
But that wouldn't have been a sly attempt to deceive DetroitYES patrons, would it?
Why are you even here?
