    what exactly constitutes downtown? Do they not include harmony park, bricktown, greektown, and other named districts in the overall downtown crime stats? Ive read before that downtown is safe but i also see headlines about violent crimes downtown often enough that it doesn't seem all that safe.

    Those districts aren't big enough to be their own "things". Everything surrounded by the Lodge, Fisher, Chrysler, and the river is downtown. I rarely see truly awful crimes happening downtown. These shootings are not the norm overall, though the fireworks does have a history...

    Since we're discussing what constitutes "downtown," some folks even consider areas along Woodward up to the New Center area "downtown."
