What folks really weren't talking about is that WannaCry is a worm.

Worms spread very easily on networks which is like being in close contact with others who have a contagious illness.

Worms are much more of a problem in enterprise computing than standalone computing where someone has a single PC at home.

I'm getting an uptick of FAKE/ SPAM emails supposedly from 'myself'. I don't open -- just junk them. I hear these emails are a gateway for attack!

The Microsoft patch is 17-010.

Looks like all [[presumably) supported Microsoft O/S are affected by the patch. [[XP isn't listed because it was no longer supported by Microsoft).
