Hey, the White House isn't a dumpster fire of chaos though, this is all normal. Just normal, healthy turnover.

Now taking bets on who will quit next week.

Top White House officials be like:
He was a Dem holdover from the previous administration, how long did you think he was going to last in a republican White House.

He already had a fit with the Charlottesville drama and threatened to quit then.

Not a very good example of White House drama.

I wonder why the change of heart, or what it is they want? Maybe they're out of money and figure Trump will write them another $4 mil check for development, like Obama did, or Hillary will give them $60 bil for "retraining".

They’re facing the reality of a Trump that will not back down, so Rocket Man intends to placate America until we erect another “obama” and they’ve come to the realization they have to last out 7 years rather than another 3; unless we make Trump president for life, in which case he’ll have to do a re-think.

Um, you're wrong Richard. They're right about Stalin Joe -- he exemplified benevolence, freedom and kindness towards his people. Way cool dude.

It was that friggin' Stalin Jenkins rogue that killed millions!

But, seriously it's incredible how reflexively positive some mills view socialism. Some of this is just parroting and the echo-chamber. Doing your own research may challenge some 'facts' and we can't have that. Being anti-American is popular-De Rigueur. Pro-US or just trying to be neutral renders you a MAGA freak and peer-wise who wants that?

I recommend a talk those who've live under socialist nations. After all, there are those desiring entry to US to get away from socialist/ fascist governments. So it can't be that great.

In the US we have a mixed bag/ economy/ culture, so ostensibly it seems you can have-your-cake and eat-it-too. For now anyway.

A night-time satellite photo of North Korea vs. South Korea will also spell out socialism today. Good times.

In comparison, just 23 percent of those between the age of 55 and 64 look favorably upon socialism...

...This ignorance among millennials isn’t surprising, as a 2016 CBS/New York Times survey found that only 16 percent of millennials could accurately define what socialism is. The VOC survey also found that 23 percent of those between the ages of 21-29 said Joseph Stalin was a “hero.”

It is funny how when he was hired the left was all up in arms about a Goldman Sachs 1% was in place and not really draining the swamp and now when he leaves your still not satisfied.

I can only imagine the turmoil and how the end of the country as we know it is near when the real discussion of whether he wears boxers of briefs comes to light.

It must be incredibly sad and frustrating to continually watch your appointees voluntarily walk out the door because nobody wants to be near you.

Trump is toxic beyond salvation. He's alienated every one of his confidants. His immediate family are being stripped of their security clearances, and it's now common knowledge that he was unfaithful to his wife [[with an adult film star) in the wake of the birth of Barron. These "things" don't just happen to everyday people. This is not even karma in its finest hour. This is a pure example of "reaping what you sow".

Does he have anyone left to turn to? Or will Mueller just be the death knell for this soon-to-be disgraced public servant? Oh how many ways this cookie could crumble.

For a modern day president who enjoys an approval rating that's been nestled in the thirties for quite some time, perhaps he should stop tweeting nonsense, get off the toilet and separate his feelings from his job. In fact, perhaps he should simply DO his job instead of tweeting and golfing all the time.

You said he was a "holdover from the previous administration." Direct quote. You said that. That's not true. That's false. Gary Cohn did NOT hold a position in the Obama Administration. In fact, he never held a job in government at all until he was appointed as the Director of the National Economic Council on January 20th, 2017, by Donald Trump. He was a Goldman Sachs executive prior to that, just one of many Goldman Sachs executives who magically found jobs in the Trump Administration.

If you say things like this that are blatantly false, expect to get called out for it. Facts matter.

It blows my mind that you continue to debunk their claims, clarify their opinions and call out their blatant hypocrisy time and again, yet they keep coming back with the same drivel. It's reminiscent of watching WWI soldiers continue to head over-the-top and run into no-mans land to only get mowed down by fortified machine gun fire, wave after wave. Insanity in its finest sense.

On a side note: Who's next on the Trump Cabinet death watch poll? It should only be days before the next appointee takes a knee, or their head rolls [[either or).

I'm taking Sarah Huckabee Sanders. She cannot keep this charade going much longer. Having to spin shit into silk everyday, while dodging simple questions of character and fact must run its toll. On top of it all, I recently read she botched the dance-around wording of the Stormy Daniels saga, and DJT is pissed. His porcelain Twitter throne must be feeling the heat today.

Throwing cannon fodder at the enemy sops up the enemy's time. It's not a very effective offense but it may have some potential defensive value. There's not much other use for cannon fodder anyway. That's the only thing not insane about it.

And that's all the time I'll spend on it.

Sometimes, we just have to ignore them and move on. It tends to get annoying listening to someone defend the know nothing, bull-shitter 'n chief and the rest of his cronies.

Regarding Sarah Sandars, I'm surprised she's lasted this long. How long can you lie for your boss before you slip up? Looks like yesterday was the day.

Trump officially ordered his protectionist tariffs on steel and aluminum today, although he exempted Mexico and Canada from the tariffs [[even though Canada sends us more steel and aluminum than any other country). Of course, this creates a loophole where countries like China can use Canada or Mexico as intermediaries to move steel into the U.S.

Good news though for American manufacturing, right? I'm sure oladub is cheering this win for the American working man. After all, domestic steel and aluminium industries employ over 150,000 Americans. Win! Well, not so fast, the European Union [[among many others) have already announced possible retaliatory tariffs on American goods, to possibly include Harley Davidson motorcycles, cranberries, oranges, Kentucky bourbon, t-shirts, tobacco, etc. Those industries also employ blue collar American workers. They will almost certainly take a hit.

The tariffs won't go into effect for another two weeks, so by the end of the month, I guess we'll find out if trade wars really are "good" and "easy to win." I highly suspect that they are not either of those things.

Harley Davidsons are already the most expensive overseas because of the tariffs imposed on us while we were not imposeing tariffs on motorcycles coming into this country.

I agree that by relaxing on Canada and Mexico in the steel imports will allow them to continue to be the middle men for Chinese steel, but it is difficult to slam the brakes on.

Fireing up or updating a steel mill is a bit more complex then turning on a light switch it will take a couple of years to get up to speed.

US steel has already reported that it is getting ready to start up another plant for production and creating 500 jobs in the process.

We have a 500 billion plus trade imbalance, fair trade is when everybody walks away happy and not when one side gives away the store when it is not in the best interest of the country.

Blue collar workers are happy when they have jobs, ones that they do not have when your production is outsourced.

Trump campaigned on addressing bad trade deals. He limited Chinese solar collectors and now this. He is doing what he said he would. Imagine that. The majority of our aluminum smelters have closed. Trump wants to save some for defense and national self-sufficiency. Imagine that. In the short run, the E.U. can be nasty and try to hurt some U.S. workers. Nothing new there. They have already issued heavy fines and stiff requirement against American computer companies in an effort to do just what Trump is trying to do with steel and aluminum. But when the balance of trade is so heavily in e.g. China or Germany's favor, it is a long term losing game for China or Germany to be playing tit for tat. The U.S. has also for too long been defending Europe's oil supplies with our young people. Let the E.U. pick up that responsibility and tab too.

Our country depended on tariffs as a main, or the main, source of federal government revenues until Woodrow Wilson [[D) passed the 16th. Amendment transferring taxation from import companies to the backs of the middle class. Trade laws have been written by corporations that profit from importing the products of cheap foreign labor leaving behind a trail of Flints, and huge trade deficits that suck money out of our economy.

My suggestion is to model future trade legislation on the U.S.-Canada auto trade agreement. Every nation should self determine which industries it wants to protect and to what extent. After that, there could be free no tariff trade to the point that equal value of products was exchanged between two nations. Then, only put tariffs on disparities of trade. My guess is that countries like China and Germany would find some other U.S. products they would gladly import as an alternative to tariffs. This would encourage both free and fair trade. No one is suggesting this but its a better idea than promoting the status quo of gradually closing down U.S. production to keep enriching the 1% and depleting national wealth by $56/month.

Looks like lots of heads will roll in the next 3-4 months. From Vanity Fair today, Trump is looking for a "clean reset."

    https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2018...-a-clean-reset

Reportedly first to go will be Chief of Staff John Kelly and Trump is interviewing candidates at Mar-a-lago next week. Trump is apparently feeling emboldened and wants to go full MAGA and resents being controlled by Kelly.

Next up will be HR McMaster, followed by Jared Kushner, who will apparently be sent off to NYC to help head up Trump's 2020 Campaign [[and get him away from the White House). Although Trump is loyal to his family members, he apparently is not too fond of all the negative press that Kushner keeps generating for the White House with his security clearance issues and shady foreign business ties.

All of this will supposedly be timed to make it appear like the White House isn't in chaos, so expect these departures to be appropriately spaced apart, but Trump is definitely looking to clean house.
