Perhaps the most impressive death by natural causes ever. The CIA only tried to kill him like a thousand times.
Wikipedia's Assassination attempts on Fidel Castro is a good read.

638 times, according to the head of Cuban counter-intelligence. Possibly correct, however, the higher the number the better Castro looks, doesn't it?Wikipedia's Assassination attempts on Fidel Castro is a good read.

You know, even in the 80's, we had stealth bombers that could have dropped a caseless bomb into his fireplace from ten miles up and nobody would have known what the hell had happened. If we had wanted him dead that bad, there were much simpler, much more effective methods than poisoned cold cream, or cigars, or whatever.
