Uh, yep, that was a factor. With all of Ms. Clinton's presumed advantage, and appreciable leverage to mitigate her own 'baggage' she still could NOT pull it off!

Otherwise it should have been an at least a 2/3rd land-slide in her direction - withstanding the 'deplorables' and others who voted for Trump! See Sander's quote which speaks volume on the outcome!

Default Why hasn't MI been called...

None of the media have called MI yet, but the MI SoS website says "100% in". Any idea why?

To further add weight on post #48. At what point did Russia become our ally? Conservatives used them to be the "evil empire" for close to four decades.

Weren't we supposed to hate the Russians for the 2014 Sochi Olympics because of their homophobia, their failed drug tests, their poor hotel accommodations, and shoddy production values? Well, the homophobia persists, so, does that mean the big elephant in the room for Trump supporters was homophobia and their hypocritical way of supporting "a loud and open" person, yet, that topic so crucial to them was never brought up by Trump or his followers. It's very much like when sheisty reactionaries to Obama being in office [[especially the formation of the Tea Party) would rail about anything-ANYTHING-except the fact that he was black, which was probably the very thing that irked them the most.

Yeah, Trump's supporters are far from the "hypocrisy" of the political system that is broke. Many of them are just as cowardly in their true intentions clouded by their guised rhetoric. They just want the system to be broken in the areas that favor them most.

It should also be added that the day of the election I took my mom to vote and run errands. We ended up at Meijer's and saw an African American woman fuming and barreling down the aisle-way grumbling loudly about "racist white *sssholes sabotaging this election.-[[something something)-I can't even vote." She was pissed off about something that happened that day. This was at 4:45p.

I see very little brought up about the issue of a hacked election with faulty machines-and suspiciously so. Of all things, Fox news put this article http://www.fox2detroit.com/news/elec...16159836-story about bad machines [[brother saw a jam up in a machine that held up things that morning when he vote-his wait was over an hour, he said), and the NAACP phoneline out of service or jammed up with complaints.

    Something is seriously wrong.

Not only did they call it at 9pm, but they did a live Facebook video declaring it and then PAID TO PROMOTE THAT VIDEO on Facebook!

    LOL @ Freep

IMO...Hillary was not a poor candidate. Trump won because people would rather see a male clown run the country rather than a woman.

Anyone who wants to get involved in the protest march in Detroit: there's another one today started in the center of WSU campus and going to Hart Plaza. I went last night and it's organized by the same group today [[BAMN/WSU BAMN). Police help in keeping the streets safe from traffic was wonderful and there was no violence/rioting. At Hart Plaza the organizers gave some short speeches and then opened up the mic to anyone who wanted to speak. The crowd was mostly students but also included local nurses, DPS teachers and other residents. The march will either be on Woodward or headed to Woodward by 6. If you aren't interested then you can ignore this post and you don't have to respond or attend.

Just an observation [[not a critique); Why are marches and protests so often held in the area where people agree with the cause?

From afar, I see protests in Manhattan and Portland, areas that voted overwhelmingly for Clinton.

You want to make a statement? Shouldn't you march in the nearest county that voted strongly Trump?

Isn't the point to tell 'those' people [[smiles) that there are large numbers of their fellow citizens who are ticked?

Marching in your own area, where most people agree with you, doesn't convince many people; you're preaching to the converted.

Its making a statement [[hopefully w/some positivity) towards those that do/did what you find disagreeable.... that would seem more likely to illicit change.

Good question. I think the purpose right now is to spread the word and gain support. Organizers were handing out informational flyers to everyone that we passed so they can be aware of what's going on with future protests. You're right that this is a very anti-trump area, and most people we passed cheered us on or joined. Hopefully support and awareness increase enough so groups throughout Michigan can effectively join together in the near future.
